  • Excellent Glass
Style: FC-Mil Reticle
Excellent glass. Great eye relief. Easy zeroing. Love the toggle for easy adjustment on magnification. This is my first NightForce, I will definitely be making these my go to optics.

  • Light and small great glass
Style: FC-Mil Reticle
I read every review on the internet about this optic and spent a year and went through 2 other optics that were about $500.00 cheaper what I've found is for me I prefer the light weight that this scope offers and small footprint the eyebox is definitely tight but I haven't found this to be a deal breaker I shoot this scope almost as fast as any dot sight I've ever had this scope is definitely a compromise but for me it fits the role I need it for perfectly the reticle is excellent as well as the clarity it really comes down to what you require this is a great close to midrange optic that's really lightweight small and clear i highly recommend and am already looking to purchase another for a recce setup ... show more

  • Exactly what I ordered. Little issues on arrival.
Style: FC-MOA Reticle
Arrived sealed and item was what I ordered. It came out of the foam in transit and all the accessories were next to the lenses. A small cut on the rubber lense cover which I will need to replaced (photo 2). Scuff marks on optic tube below top turret, probably from accessories rubbing against it during transit (photo 1), can probably be removed with oil. There was an oil ring around the collar on the tube (photo 3), but that can probably be cleaned up and reapplied. Optic is clear as day. Everything works. Probably making a big deal out of nothing, just not what I expected as far as manufacture packaging goes for this product. ... show more

  • Real but used.
Style: FC-MOA Reticle
After reading the reviews from the seller I was very skeptical to spend the money, but I risked it. The optic is real, but is definitely used. Inside the nightforce box was a mess, one lense cap was open, the other closed. Looked like stuff was just tossed in there. It’s been mounted before because theres scuffs and wear from an optic mount. And there was a giant smear on the glass. Compared to the other reviews I guess I got lucky. ... show more

  • Use medium rings. Low won't work
Style: FC-MOA Reticle
Excellent in all respects

  • Was not what I was expecting for a high end optic
Style: FC-Mil Reticle
I am honestly not sure what all the hype is about this optic. It's up there close to the price of some of the top top of the line optics and in my opinion it's about $1,000 over priced. It is not even close to a true 1x so quickly mounting and shooting with both eyes open is going to make you dizzy, you need to shoulder weapon and then give your eyes a couple seconds to focus the double vision you're seeing due to it being more like 1.5x. No amount of adjusting the diopter would help, and the glass had a very odd shifting affect which changed the mag at 1x if you dialed the elevation turret. My scope was so bad that I can only assume I had a defective scope. I returned it. I own a K16i, K18i, and a VX-6HD 1-6 which all perform excellently compared to this NX8 did. ... show more

  • Unusable pass 300 yds
Style: FC-MOA Reticle
I can't believe it how the reticle design is so overlooked and unusable at 8x magnification pass 300 yards. For almost two grand, this is unacceptable, light weight or not. I have both Leupold and Zeiss scopes and wanted to finally spend on NF to see what the hubbub was all about and what disappointment! Get a Leupold or Zeiss for half this price with better reticles and glass, guys. Here's the issue - the reticle center dot blows up to cover over half of a human size cardboard cutout target at 8x magnification placed 350 yards away. You can hit it somewhere, no telling where since you can't see the damn target. I didn't even go that far as to try it on a deer at that range, there isn't a precision shot with this reticle at this magnification at a range beyond 200 yds max, with 8x it should be easy all the way to 800 but forget it, you won't even see the target behind this center dot. Whoever smoked what crack when they tested this?? 6x or 8x mag is not workable with this reticle, just a gimmick. This is something along the lines of Leapers, UTG or Bushnell $100 tubes made in a sweatshop, absolutely useless beyond 4x mag at >300 yards.. Only giving two stars because still could use it up to 4x mag reasonably enough but not for this price. ... show more
