  • Light and small great glass
Style: FC-Mil Reticle
I read every review on the internet about this optic and spent a year and went through 2 other optics that were about $500.00 cheaper what I've found is for me I prefer the light weight that this scope offers and small footprint the eyebox is definitely tight but I haven't found this to be a deal breaker I shoot this scope almost as fast as any dot sight I've ever had this scope is definitely a compromise but for me it fits the role I need it for perfectly the reticle is excellent as well as the clarity it really comes down to what you require this is a great close to midrange optic that's really lightweight small and clear i highly recommend and am already looking to purchase another for a recce setup ... show more

  • Excellent Glass
Style: FC-Mil Reticle
Excellent glass. Great eye relief. Easy zeroing. Love the toggle for easy adjustment on magnification. This is my first NightForce, I will definitely be making these my go to optics.

  • Exactly what I ordered. Little issues on arrival.
Style: FC-MOA Reticle
Arrived sealed and item was what I ordered. It came out of the foam in transit and all the accessories were next to the lenses. A small cut on the rubber lense cover which I will need to replaced (photo 2). Scuff marks on optic tube below top turret, probably from accessories rubbing against it during transit (photo 1), can probably be removed with oil. There was an oil ring around the collar on the tube (photo 3), but that can probably be cleaned up and reapplied. Optic is clear as day. Everything works. Probably making a big deal out of nothing, just not what I expected as far as manufacture packaging goes for this product. ... show more

  • Real but used.
Style: FC-MOA Reticle
After reading the reviews from the seller I was very skeptical to spend the money, but I risked it. The optic is real, but is definitely used. Inside the nightforce box was a mess, one lense cap was open, the other closed. Looked like stuff was just tossed in there. It’s been mounted before because theres scuffs and wear from an optic mount. And there was a giant smear on the glass. Compared to the other reviews I guess I got lucky. ... show more

  • An overall excellent optic for a small frame AR
Style: FC-MOA Reticle
The NX8 offers a size and weight that are unmatched at this magnification range. I'm very happy with my purchase and definitely recommend this optic for any small frame AR.

  • Great scope!
Style: FC-MOA Reticle
I must admit I was a little concerned about buying the Nightforce NX8 1-8 scope after reading all the bad reviews online. But I have learned from experience anyone can write a review. I have also learned everyone who shoots thinks they are the best shot and know all about guns, scopes, and all other firearms related gear. When in fact most know very little and cannot shoot to save their lives! I base that on my experience as a Police Officer, retired infantry Marine along with running a Gun Club, shooting 3-gun, combat pistol, high power rifle and cowboy matches along with watching and listening to the other shooters. With that being said, I do not know who came to the conclusion the Nightforce NX8 1-8 Scope has a bad eye box and is extremely hard to see out of. It appears they are all wrong! I have had absolutely no problem with the eye box being anywhere near tight or a problem in any position! I have tried to push my limits and found no problem with the eye box no matter what I did! My guess is someone who can not shoot very well posted a YouTube review of the Nightforce NX8 1-8 and everyone else followed suite with that review because they wanted everyone to think they knew what they were talking about when in fact they did not. The Nightforce NX8 1-8 scope is a great scope and not my first Nightforce. It does have a fixed parallax which makes it a little harder to focus. It took me about 10-15 minutes of playing with the eye focus ring until I got the reticle and objective clear at all ranges. Could be my eyes which are not what they used to be. The reticle is a great combat and 3-gun reticle and not a precision shooting reticle. It is made for fast target acquisition and engagement. I see no need for the elevation adjustment after sighting in the rifle. You should use the reticle for holdovers. You need to shoot your rifle at all distances, so you know the correct holdover for your rifle at any given range. Do not rely on any book or application to do it for you. I have found them all to be wrong. I was able to maintain a ½ inch group with the NX8 1-8 at 100 yards and strike steel out to 525 yards without any problem. The scope tracked perfect when sighting it in. The illumination of the scope is as bright as a good red dot scope in bright sunlight and turns down low enough to use in total darkness without blinding you. Great overall adjustments. The over all quality is on par with all the other Nightforce scopes. No scope is a do it all scope every scope has its advantages and disadvantages. If you want a precision scope get a 20X or 32X scope. If you want a fast close quarters scope that runs like a red dot with the advantage of 8 power magnification when you need it at long ranges, you will love the Nightforce NX8 1-8. The best gear in the world will not make you the best shooter. It just lets you shoot to the best of your ability. If you want to improve your performance, only knowing your gear and practicing with it will do that. ... show more

  • Was not what I was expecting for a high end optic
Style: FC-Mil Reticle
I am honestly not sure what all the hype is about this optic. It's up there close to the price of some of the top top of the line optics and in my opinion it's about $1,000 over priced. It is not even close to a true 1x so quickly mounting and shooting with both eyes open is going to make you dizzy, you need to shoulder weapon and then give your eyes a couple seconds to focus the double vision you're seeing due to it being more like 1.5x. No amount of adjusting the diopter would help, and the glass had a very odd shifting affect which changed the mag at 1x if you dialed the elevation turret. My scope was so bad that I can only assume I had a defective scope. I returned it. I own a K16i, K18i, and a VX-6HD 1-6 which all perform excellently compared to this NX8 did. ... show more
