I purchased this pre assembled Queen size Murphy cabinet bed to replace an old full size bed in a guest/gaming/tv/hang drying laundry/ room. I love this bed. It is easy to set up. The lift off piece is a little heavy but doable for me. The mattress is pretty comfortable ( I took a test drive nap on it). It is easy to close back up. It is well made, real wood and attractive. Not sure what Rubber Wood is but it is suppose to be a hardwood. The unit is beautiful, heavy and finished nicely. We spent a little extra to have ours shipped assembled. It arrived from Arizona to Chicago in three days. Thanks Estes Shipping. Great job! It came to our house in a semi truck with a lift gate and fork lift. Although it's tail gate delivery the guy was very nice and wheeled it in to our condo parking spot for us. The box was approximately 3.5 ft. square and seven feet long. It weighed 200 lbs. The unit unboxed is 165 lbs. We used wheeled furniture movers to roll it into our elevator and up to the fourth floor. The box was cardboard with lots of foam and plastic wrapping. It had a small defect which was easily fixed with a refinish pen. This is a unique space safer that allows us to have a nice office / TV room and occasional guest room. It sits on the floor like a dresser or armoire with no need to attach to the wall like a murphy bed. Love this piece. ... show more

    • Glad we took this risk, but not easy

I searched extensively for a bed that was more comfortable than a pull-out sofa and that took up minimal space. We have a multi-use spare room and I wasn’t quite ready to turn it into a full-time bedroom. Additionally, I searched for a style that easily fit in regardless of my decor choice of the moment. My hesitation was that with this price, I was expecting service closer to Wayfair and that is not the case. Also, I use Amazon because of their return policy, which doesn’t apply to this furniture. The purchase is a leap of faith. First, the company won’t take the product back unless there is some unseen. internal breakage and leaves the onus on the buyer to inspect it upon arrival. This means, you spend half an hour laboriously unpacking the unit in front of a pissy, unhelpful 3rd-party delivery driver who didn’t even have a box cutter …. All on your front lawn, because secondly, unless you pay several hundred dollars more, they won’t even bring it close to your door if you have a front stoop/patio. So, there I was, rushing to unpack and inspect because a last-minute rain shower was upon us. Then I had to run around and find something to cover the box before it rained because it was too heavy for me to lift by myself and the driver wouldn’t push it to the door :( For $2,000 I expected better delivery service and policies. Wayfair does much better in this regard. So yes, I’d recommend… but for sure wouldn’t order a second one for our river cabin because the service is lacking unless you are willing to pay $$$$ for them to bring it through your front door, whereby you would still be expected to unwrap yourself. I can’t even imagine how that would have gone if I saw damage! That said, I couldn’t find this style with short delivery time anywhere else and though it was a PIA, it was delivered within a week or so and looks exactly as depicted. It’s a nice quality, heavy piece and I suppose “worth it” as these beds are expensive everywhere. All in all, I’m glad I took the risk… but it was a RISK, because there was no scenario whereby I could just decide… this is a piece of junk, I don’t want it. We needed a solution that would allow us to make the most of the only bonus room we have in the house. Traditional beds just take up way too much space. As I searched for Murphy beds, I came across this one. It stood out from all the rest because when the bed is out, the person sleeping in the bed does not have their head in a cave. Additionally it looks great and has room inside for pillows. The finish is perfect. I got the darkest one and you can still see some wood grain If you look closely-it is all wood construction and high-quality. I also would be in remiss if I did not discuss the white glove delivery. It is an extra option that you pay for (cost depends on the companies your area). Because I am no longer in my 20’s I thought I would splurge and pay the extra and boy was it worth it! The two gentlemen who delivered the bed brought it upstairs, completely unwrapped it and showed me how to operate it. They were super friendly and very courteous and took away the shipping boxes and wrapping. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Overall this cabinet bed has EXCEEDED my expectations and I couldn’t be happier! ... show more

This product fits our needs for an extra bed perfectly. SDS Cabinet Beds did a super job of packaging and shipping the cabinet! It is well worth the extra $20 to receive it fully assembled. It was delivered to the curb and the driver kindly moved it to our front door with his pallet jack. Unfortunately there was some damage to the cabinet in shipping. I took pictures of the packaged cabinet and the damage to the actual cabinet. I followed the instructions from SDS which they provided before the cabinet arrived. I texted them pictures of the damaged package & cabinet per their instructions. They responded almost immediately. I determined that I could fix the damage and SDS issued a credit on the cabinet through Amazon. From start to finish it took no more than 4 hours to resolve everything with SDS and for Amazon to issue the credit. SDS was outstanding to work with, I high endorse them as a supplier! ... show more
