I was tired of buying small bottles of paint and spending a fortune on them for only a few months of use. These bottles are large, reasonably priced, and I ordered them around 3pm yesterday and had them at noon today so I could finish my painting. Some reviews said it requires a couple layers, this is a thick acrylic paint. It has rich color, and definitely does not need more than one layer unless you’re brushing it out thinly. ... show more

Lots of paint. Very good for beginners. Obviously at this price you aren’t getting a top shelf acrylic. However if you are like me and trying to pump out paintings to just practice technique this is a fantastic paint. I’m able to work with it enough to produce some good quality portraits as well as landscapes. It’s slightly more fluid than the generic acrylic you buy at your local hobby store, which is sometimes good. It adheres well to the canvas and spreads just as well as any other acrylic. If I were to knit pick I would mention the opacity is slightly less than higher priced acrylic, but that is easily mitigated by applying more paint. Also it’s fair to mention those other paints aren’t even in the ballpark of value with these paints. I like the colors provided in this 18 pack. I tend to use lots of earth tones (yellow ochre, burnt sienna, pthalo blue/green...) it also comes with a very nice cool light blue that you can mix some vibrant magenta’s with. Obviously the lightfastness is non-existent but if you are considering painting something you want to last more than 15 years I doubt you will even be shopping on Amazon for that paint. The palate knife is too stiff to work with, that’s really my only complaint. I will be buying this again when I run out. ... show more

I was a little nervous about purchasing these so close to our event since I saw several reviews mention the bottles came damaged and opened. I was happy to see that they must have updated the inner seal because it is like a plastic cork that was a little tricky to pop out. Once I opened the box, I wasn’t able to close it again properly as the box got a bit beat up during shipping and the side came apart. The paints themselves seemed to go over well. They are nice and thick so a little paint went a long ways. I suggested to most people to do two thin coats for coverage and that helped the canvases dry quicker before moving onto the next step.
