This product is the bees knees! The cats pajamas! Really, and the big boy bottles too! I thoroughly enjoyed using them and will continue to be excited every time I get the time to sit and create!     • Thin paint does not cover canvas acceptably
I was filled with anticipation when I first ordered this set of acrylic paints. The product description promised vivid colors. Upon receiving the paint, I eagerly opened five colors to test: Magenta, Orange, Violet, Spring Green, and Sap Green. I had a black canvas already primed with black gesso, and I imagined these colors would bring it to life, creating a beautiful floral painting. Opening the paint containers was a breeze, although I did end up with some paint on my hands. If this is a concern, I recommend wearing gloves. I washed my hands with soap and water, and the paint came off quickly. After pouring the magenta and orange paints on my palette, it became apparent that both were incredibly thin and had no viscosity. I never water down my acrylic paints, but these were obviously thinned. I first tried to paint with the magenta on the black canvas. My initial brush strokes were not apparent on the canvas. My next move was to mix the magenta and orange. The same thing occurred. After this, I went to my heavy-body student acrylic paint shelf and selected a titanium white from another manufacturer. When I mixed the titanium white with the magenta, the color became less vivid, but the paint could now be seen on the canvas. It also worked as a traditional heavy-body student acrylic paint. The same was true when I added the violet and the two greens. I was not striving for perfection when ordering this paint, but I at least expected a paint that would not require more than three or four coats just for a base coat. This paint is simply a disappointment. I cannot use it for my style of acrylic painting on canvas. The manufacturer took a shortcut or two when creating this paint. Regardless of how vibrant the colors appear in the bottle, what good are they if they don’t stand up on the canvas? Instead of purchasing this set of acrylic paints, I recommend any serious artist invest in the primary colors of a well-known and respected acrylic paint and make their own colors. In the end, you will save money. This paint is not a good option for any artist. It will quickly frustrate you, and you will head off to order quality paint. ... show more
