A carburetor’s job is to supply an internal combustion engine with air/fuel mixture A carburetor works by mixing air and fuel to allow for internal combustion. ATV Carburetors: Most ATV carburetors use a simple design. They have a vertical air pipe that’s strategically located above the engine cylinders. The vertical air pipe is then joined to a horizontal fuel pipe (at the narrowest part of the venturi) which allows for the passage of air into the engine’s inlet manifold.     • Perfect for Big Bear 350 but some easy mod needed
Purchased this for my Yamaha Big Bear 350 which I use at our hunting lease. I had to change the main jet with the 125 instead of the 145 jet that came installed but it is included. I also had to reset the fuel mixing screw to zero and turned 1.5 times and it then idled perfectly. I do have an issue with the choke automatically opening causing shifting issues but that was easily fixed by cutting a section of fuel line, splitting it down the middle and putting it over the choke to hold it from opening. Easy solution to keep this 4 wheeler going. Giving it a 4 star for this reason but overall it is a great carb to choose. ... show more

Works great, fired right up after install on a 1994 yamaha kodiak 400. Installed #145 just caused sputtering at high gear and medium throttle. Replaced with the included #135 main jet, and works great.

Oem carb was no longer available. Tried this brand because the manufacturer description seemed some what competent. Installed the carb. Leaks from vent tube. Float height level is correct but still leaks fuel like crazy. Float needle seat isn’t even chamfered. Basically just a waste of time and money. ... show more

    • Carburetor leaks gasoline around float bowl drain screw and leaks out drain tube
Leaking gasoline around float bowl drain screw and out of drain line while setting on level ground, wasting gasoline and making a fire hazard on my carport, sent in a warranty claim to Niche Industry, customer service apologized for issues with their product, and sending a replacement , Very good response time ‘ very good service department,, Thanks for your help!!     • Throttle housing to long
The throttle cable housing on this carb is 1/4 inch longer than the original, making your cable to short IF it is not adjusted all the way out. Mine was too short and this did not fit my 1997 Yamaha Big Bear 350 2x4. I was able to use the seals and "rebuilt" my old carb.
