Picking out curtains online is kinda like trying to find a bathing suit that looks just as good on you as it does on the model, who just happens to be twenty years younger and 50lbs lighter… I wasn’t sure what to expect with these curtains but after reading a hundred reviews that pretty much said the same thing (“just buy them”), I figured my chances of them looking just as good in my room were in my favor. I ordered two sets of 42x84 and I’m so glad I did! I love the Steele Blue color (I think that’s what it’s called), the feel of the fabric and the level of blackout they provide. They are lightweight but sturdy. Do they COMPLETELY BLACK OUT the room like I’m in a windowless closet? No…do they darken the room enough that I could sleep in and not realize what time of day it is after a late night of adult beverages? ABSOLUTELY. Our house faces East so we get full sun every morning into the bedroom. (The cats think it’s the best thing ever because they can move around in the room to ensure they are in the perfect sunspot all morning.) The pics were taken around 11:30a to show how much light we get with the curtains open and how dark the room gets when they’re closed. Light still gets in around the top because we don’t have any type of shades or blinds but we’re ok with that. For us, it’s plenty dark enough but for others it may not be enough. If you want windowless closet dark, you may want to look elsewhere but if this level of dark is good enough, then stop contemplating and add to your cart. As others have said, they arrive packaged nicely but folded up so there are wrinkles. I tried spritzing with water and tossing in the dryer but the curtains laughed at me. I ended up throwing them over the ironing board and ironed across from side to side (horizontally) to get the wrinkles out. I wasn’t concerned about the vertical creases too much simply because these curtains hang in a creased manner but the ironing got most of those out, too. It took me probably five minutes to iron each panel…so 20 minutes in all. Honestly it took longer for my husband to hang the brackets and rod than for me to iron them! All in all, they’re great and priced well. I’m ordering two more sets for the other bedrooms! ... show more

    • Great darkening curtains!

These are suprisingly beautiful curtains. They have made my life so much better and they make me happy! I ended up ordering multiple colors and ended up with the natural which is neutral and changes in the light. I have a light blue grey rug and bed set (from Pottery Barn) and they seem to take on a slight grey tone in that context. Also note these curtains are room darkening, not marked blackout. They are absolutely enough to darken my room and create a restful environement beyond the "blackout blinds" I had which were not as good as these curtains. It really helps in the morning, if you wake up too early and want to go back to sleep! Added bonus is that my sleep tracker is showing more quality sleep and going into longer deeper sleep sessions. I do owe it to these curtains! Wish I had bought them years ago! I wasn't sure about the grommets but turns out they look good and because they are large it makes them super easy to pull shut. I bought 2 pairs, so I would have a lot of gathering. To me it looks nicer than just having one pair and you don't notice that is isn't one curtain. I was worried about the "sheen" but perhaps it's because I ordered the natural, but they don't look shiny at all. These curtains are heavy, so added benefit is blocking drafts (winter here now and hope it works the same in summer). I also noted some noise filtering (I live in the city, so all of this is good!) My only criticism is the wrinkles. this is not horrible or a reason not to order these otherwise terrific curtains, just be aware if you are a perfectionist, you will need to work to get those wrinkles out...they don't "fall out." Granted I did not put iron or ironing board to them. They look like cotton, but indeed are polyester. I used an upright steamer which isn't as effective to get out every wrinkle. ... show more

These curtains greatly exceeded my expectations! They are thick and sturdy, yet silky smooth and eye-catching. They are also wrinkle-free from the start, and very easy to install and adjust, etc. The blackout capability? Absolutely perfect. It will be pitch black in your room, guaranteed. These are great curtains, they really do block out the sun and do a great job keeping the warmth in. The quality is very good too, even hem, and the fabric is a nice smooth finish while being heavy weight enough to keep out the cold.

This is the third set of these curtains I've purchased and they've all exceeded my expectations. Not too expensive, thick, quality material that blocks light effectively, and bold colors that bring life to any space. The color is true to the photos and is the same on both sides of the curtain, so they also look great from outside, too. They do arrive a little wrinkled with fold lines, but a low-heat iron helps and I expect the few wrinkles left from my impatience to hang them will fall out over time. I most definitely did not iron the first two sets at all, and after a while the wrinkles straightened themselves out. Love love love these blackout curtains. They get the job done. We don’t have them on rod, we just have them pinned to the wall to lessen the gaps that curtains naturally have, so installation was easy. With my bedroom door closed, there is absolutely no light coming in thanks to these curtains. I struggle with sleeping when the sun comes out or if there’s any lights at all, anywhere near me, so these have really helped me get better sleep. They’re pretty affordable in comparison to other blackout curtains we’ve priced, and much better than the last brand we had in our room. They’re the perfect length for our window with some curtain to spare. Definitely would purchase again! ... show more
