I first bought these in white and sea teal a few years ago for our apartment. We've now purchased our first house, and I'm gradually putting these in every room! The greyish green and navy shades are slightly lighter than the pictures. The sea teal is a little brighter. They grey is pretty accurate to the pictures. As others mentioned, the white curtains have a black lining, so they're just as effective as darker colors. I now have 20 panels of varying sizes and colors, and haven't had an issue with any. I agree with other reviewers that the fabric is much nicer (and true blackout level!) compared to other products. I also appreciate the wide variety of lengths and widths they offer. I use a steamer to remove the wrinkles, but I'm sure the dryer trick others mentioned would work too. Given the quality, I think they're a great value, especially if you buy them on sale. That happens pretty frequently - use Honey's Smart Droplist if you'd like the track the price automatically. Keep in mind, you need to hang your curtain rod higher and wider than your window to block out more light. I measure the space between the window frame and ceiling and go about 2/3 of the way up (you can install it higher if you want, as long as you have enough space for the curtain to slide). For width, I try to go at least 6 inches out from the window frame on both sides. This helps with blocking light, but also means that the curtain won't block any of the window when you do open it. Depending on your home, it's also best to have the curtains reach to just above the floor (assuming you don't have radiators or similar). You'll want the curtain width to be 1.5-2 times wider than the rod, so that they look full.

These white "BLACKOUT" curtains are perfect for my bedroom which has a sliding glass door. The room gets hot or warm in the later part of the day, because the sun sets on that window in the evening. The heat is reduced by a ton. I really love that these curtains block out all the bright light. I ordered 4 panels, I believe they come either singely or 2 panels in a pack. But 4 panels were perfect, because it gave the curtains some space to hang nicely and not tight side by side. I can open them and the curtains really hang well. They look just like the picture. They are pretty wrinkly when you do open them and will need to be steamed out a bit.

Sorry, I wish I had remembered to take a picture this morning, but I DID get an awesome night's sleep. They were perfect. Yes, there was light coming in around the edges, but I can adjust. I was also pleased that I only needed two panels for my large window. I'm one of those people who are too lazy to actually measure, so I ordered and prayed. I figured for that great price I could come back and order two more if needed, but I didn't need to. I ordered white and they have a black backing. I was so blown away by the price and their effectiveness that it was an Amazon deal I had to comment about. Also, the wrinkles from being packaged steamed right out.

I purchased these because I bought a longer version for my kids’ room for the black out effect. Now I have them in both kids’ rooms AND our bathrooms. This was right after I hung them, but they have, since, flattened out and aren’t letting any light around the side edges or bottom. It’s hard, with kids, to get into the bedtime routine when it doesn’t look dark when they’re brushing their teeth! This does the trick! The black lining looks so good from the road that we took down the blinds that used to be up behind the curtains.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I figured I was looking for one like this one and would have appreciated it before buying. I am a very light sleeper and am in med school. I purchased these curtains because they were advertised as blackout. There is a lamppost that shines right onto my bed at night, and I used to have had a hard time sleeping because of it. These curtains do the trick and have completely taken that light away. At night it’s pitch black. During the day, if I close my door, curtains, and turn off my light, I cannot see any of the artwork in my room. It is almost pitch black right now at 1:30. I am about to nap, and I am glad to report that I can now do that anytime of day. If you are worried about these curtains being blackout, don’t be. Just get the correct dimensions, and you will be set. I just took these photos for your reference. The first photo: doors closed, lights off, curtains closed. Second photo doors closed, lights off, curtains open. It is 1:42 PM and super sunny (UV 9), and still, the shades still block out all the light. It’s even darker in person than in the photos. I hope you buy and enjoy like I did.

Not the prettiest but not bad. We're starting to heat up in the Pacific Northwest and ordered for my home office which I spend most of my time. For the relatively few days it gets hot enough where I'm uncomfortable I have to install these clunky large A/C units with the tubes to the window. Just for 4 - 10 days out of the year. A PAIN. This is our hot week so far and ordered yesterday, arrived today (although delivered to the wrong address) and was sweating before and during hanging up the curtains around 2:00pm. I swear within a very short time the temp in the hottest room ever facing west and getting all of the sun, it cooled down significantly. Only the west side of my house heats up like a furnace on hot days so I will be ordering again for the other west facing room with a window. I'm SOLD. And this is not a paid for review.

We have a very tall window in my daughters room. In the late afternoon, the sun shines right through the window, which has closed blinds on them, and heats up the whole upstairs right before she goes to bed. The summer is horrible because it makes it so hot up there! We ordered these curtains and they have block the heat immensely! I'm so glad I bought them! My son's room is on the opposite side upstairs and he gets all the morning sun. I ended up buying a pair for his tall window and plan on installing them tonight! You'll love these curtains! Stop browsing different ones and just buy a set of these!
