  • Room darkening
Size: 34 in x 72 in (W x L) Color: Greyish White
I got the greyish white color in 72"L x 34"W for a kitchen window that's above a baseboard heater. The window hole is 52" wide I believe. The "greyish white" color is nearly white in regular lighting but gets darker when the sun hits it. The bottom hems are higher/shorter on the corners which doesn't really matter for us because they're covered by another curtain. But if I were planning on having only these curtains up I'd return them and try another brand. The curtains are what I would call "room darkening" not blackout. It's fine for our purposes though. A darker color would be way more effective but the dark gray we had looks weird with our other curtains. The outer layers of the fabric are white but there's a black layer inside that makes the fabric look more silvery white. When sun hits the fabric it looks like a warm light gray color because the black layer gets lit up. It's the nature of this type of blackout fabric so it's fine, but the fabric does look a little weird on the seams. The needle holes look huge because the inner layer shows through there. I've had several sets of curtains like this and the black layer only really shows up on lighter colors. So if that bothers you but you need a light color curtain, you might want to get a different type. We have a "pure white" curtain from a seller who has basically the same curtains as these in different sizes. The pure white doesn't have an inner black layer, it's just thick white fabric. You have to pay close attention to notice that the listing doesn't call them "blackout." We used 45"Lx42"W pure white curtains as 3/4" cafe curtains for privacy and to let light in. Then we have the greyish white blackout curtains up on an Eclipse double rod over that, with gray IKEA curtains over those. I think they look great together. If you use a blackout curtain as the under layer on a double rod, you may have no other reasonable choice but to use rings and clips to mount them. The rod pocket probably won't let you open the curtain all the way (they can only bunch up so far), and it takes some force to push them apart anyway. It will be irritating and time consuming to open and close them every day. When pushed to the side the fabric bunches up and presses against the outer rod (and against whatever curtain is bunched up on the outer rod). Grommets have the same issues, they don't fit. Also on our first try we got wider (52") curtains without thinking. If you use two rods, everything is easier when the total width of the blackout curtains is not much wider than the window hole. Our blackout curtains are only a couple inches wider than the width of our curtain rod. Typical curtains are supposed to be two or three times as wide as your window, to look nice and drapey. We wanted the curtains to be nearly flat when opened, because if they are wavy at all then more light can get in over the top. But also with wide ones there's way more fabric that you have to try to shove to the side of the rod when you open them. The idea was just to cover the window hole with a little extra on each side, not to drape at all. When all the curtains are opened these ones are totally hidden by the IKEA curtains on top. The rings make it so easy to fling all the curtains open, and they let you collapse the curtains to be really narrow. So anyway if you think you might need to use rings and clips, be sure to account for the clips in your measurements and place the rod correctly to account for them. Using clips adds a couple inches in height to the curtain, and lowers the top edge of the curtain closer to the window. If the rod is low you might have to move it up to use clips effectively. Also you may need to mount the rod wider to have room to push the open curtains off to the sides of the window if you use the rod pocket method. I put 7 clips on each blackout panel about 5.25" apart and that was enough to keep them pretty flat when closed. Eight clips might be a little better. If the clips are too far apart the top edge flops over between them. I'll post pics of the curtains in bright sun and lightbulb light, and of the difference between the white colors ASAP. The sun went down so I can't now lol Hopefully this saves someone some time and money. It was tedious and expensive to figure out. I believe I started this project in 2013. ... show more

  • Nice light colored blackouts
Size: 42 in x 45 in (W x L) Color: Greyish White
Our ac in Florida died in February and when the heat dome arrived mid-summer, we had enough and bought big window air conditioners. I had longer silver/gray blackout curtains in my bedroom that fit the window but didn't like bunching up the length on top of the window ac. It didn't make it easy to open and close them anymore. So I looked for white or off white blackout curtains to blend in with the white ac and panel in the window. I found two brands in the proper length and went with this one because I had purchased their sheers before. Well the first package I received looked like a repackaged return. The two curtains were folded differently, one had a blue crease in it and they had pet hairs all over. Ick! Thankfully Amazon exchanged them. The second package was everything I had hoped. The curtains were properly packaged new curtains. They are pretty thick for blackout curtains but that's likely how they can make white or off white in blackout (also costs more than dark colors). The quality was excellent. I didn't get the smaller rod pocket size I wanted but they slide so easily on my tension rod and look great. They hang nicely and wrinkle free. They are the perfect length - they hang about a half inch above the ac. ... show more

  • I love these curtains!!!!
Size: 52 in x 72 in (W x L) Color: Black
So I love these curtains because it was the perfect length. I have a heater on the floor so I had to pull the curtains up higher for when it gets cold soon and those heaters have to come on but my room is definitely dark. But I purchased 52” width and 72” length. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy. Buy them! Thick material, mines did not come wrinkled as well it was well pressed when I removed from package. I got them on sale as well. ... show more

  • Heats heat/cold out!
Size: 34 in x 45 in (W x L) Color: Biscotti Beige
These block the light. People who complain they aren't black out need to look at all the pics before purchasing. Choose a color, then swipe thru the pics. One will tell u how much light they block out. 80%-95% depending on color. As u can see the 1st pic was 90% in Cappuccino. 2nd pic was 95% Navy Blue. 3rd pic was only 80%. I don't remember color, but you'll see the ones that are only 80% don't block as much light. . You have to pick the color then look at the pics. In one pic at the top it'll tell u how much light they block. As far as insulating, they do the trick! The navy & cappuccino keep the cold & heat out! Prob not as much as those " hotel" style insulated curtains, but these are the best investment I've made for these old windows I have! The quality is great. Nothing fancy but I just ordered more b4 winter gets here! ... show more

  • TOO GOOD
Size: 42 in x 63 in (W x L) Color: Black
I honestly had to get rid of these because they were just that good at blocking out light. If they’re closed the room is so dark I don’t even get up in the morning. Definitely recommend to get some extra sleep time on your day off (: or if you need a darker room to be able to fall asleep.

  • Blocks out light
Size: 42 in x 63 in (W x L) Color: Black
I don’t really like the feel of these and they hang kind of bulky but that is the only complaint. We hung them up in our 18m olds room as blackout curtains and they work great! We had to tape the sides to the wall so that less light would get in but they really do darken his room significantly. I love them for the purpose we have them. I wouldn’t want them in our living room but for a toddler room that we hardly go in it is perfect! ... show more

  • Good blackout curtains
Size: 42 in x 63 in (W x L) Color: Peacock Blue
I bought these for the blackout and insulation capabilities. They are definitely good for blackout and hopefully will be good insulation also. It takes some effort to get wrinkles ironed out, but it's worth it. The best way is to wash and then iron while still damp. Otherwise, you have to spray/wet them as you iron to get the wrinkles out. The colors are very close to what they show to be in the pictures. I think the price is very good for what you get. I would definitely buy again. ... show more

  • Amazing
Size: 42 in x 45 in (W x L) Color: Teal Blue
Perfect for what we intended it’s use. Great material texture. Worth the money for size and quality. And fits perfectly on short windows. Easy to assemble. Blocks sun out like 70% but does great job.
