What I like: 1. Price. You get a lot for the price. 2. Fabric. Fabric is nice and dense, and feels nice. 3. Color. The white is shiny and attractive. 4. Blocks out a ton of light. What I don't like: 1. Not quite 100%, but pretty dang close. I was obsessed with complete room darkness on the brightest of days. Especially during the winter, I would have the sun literally directly shining through my window. I tried many different ways, and came to one solution, that didn't cost much, but achieved the desired results. I also wanted to be able to open the curtains and the window if I wanted to, so a permanent window cover was not an option. I came to discover 3 important components to complete room darkness. One is a curved, or wrap around curtain rod. This will allow the curtain to go right up to the wall and block side light. The 2nd, is a second curtain inside the window frame itself. I achieved this with an inexpensive tension rod and my existing darkening curtains. The 3rd and final piece, is rod pocket style curtains. Grommet-style curtains simply won't do it. First I installed the new white 100% blackout curtains with the curved curtain rod. Next I took the tension rod and placed it inside my window frame as close to the top of the frame as I could possibly get. Then I fed my old room darkening curtains over the tension rod, doubling them up essentially, and they were long enough to reach the bottom of the window frame. Then I simply tucked the excess around the frame to block out as much light as possible. Between that and the blackout curtains, I only see the faintest of glows at the top of my ceiling above the window, and that's with the sun blaring directly through the window. I hope that helps someone, because I had a hell of a time over a long period of time trying to find a satisfactory solution. With new curtains and rods, I paid less than $70 for the entire setup. You can save more if you have existing curtains you can double up over the tension rod.

Finally! A blackout curtain with a BLACK backing!! Going back to grade school, what does the color black do? Absorb light. What does white do? Reflect light. These curtains do an amazing job at blocking the light in my sons room! I knocked it down a star because I hate the scrunch top and prefer rings but the scrunch helps block light sooo… I just love them. I got the Navy color, btw.

They block the light out very well. I have east facing windows in my bedroom so these really help. I do think they look kind of cheap compared to the expensive pottery barn ones I had in the past but I didn’t want to spend that kind of money again. I think these block the light better.

I turn to this brand whenever I need curtains for my bedrooms. They are thick and luxurious and do an amazing job at room darkening and insulation. I highly recommend them. As an added plus, they are an amazing bargain. They will come out of the package with some creases. I always hang them, creases and all, and the creases eventually fall out within a reasonable amount of time. You won't find better curtains at this price. They look and feel expensive. I have purchased five sets of Nicetown curtains and am very happy with them.

I weighed this curtains because I felt so heavy. This is quality stuff! The two panels together they’re just about 7 1/2 pounds! That heavier material could help to stop some of the cold air coming through some folks’s windows. One photo shows the way the curtains look when they’re hung up. Please excuse my messy work area! But at least that way you can tell that that’s the inside of the window. Another photo shows you what they look like from the outside of the window. Some curtains are really kind of ugly on the backside but these are nice. Beautifully finished. Another photo shows you how much the curtains black out the light in the middle of the day.m, even with my workroom door open! The light coming in is from above the curtain rod. And another photo shows you what it looks like with my work room, door shut, and it’s a dark room! I really like these curtains. They’re beautifully sound. They look great. I do not know how well they launder. I needed them up right away – – lol. And of course we don’t want them to be sheer!!
