    • Awesome 8020 aluminum frame
This thing is extremely heavy and initially difficult to get out of the box. But everything is well packed and I doubt even the worst delivery person could damage the contents. It is easy to build for the most part. There are a couple of points that are a bit confusing to understand in the manual and even the NLR video isn’t all that clear, but overall easy to follow along and assemble. I did have one bolt that was damn near impossible to get through a hole due to some flashing in the hole causing a blockage. A drill bit and cordless drill was able to clean it out though and then the bolt went in just fine. The only damage was a few swear words. It is possible to assemble it by yourself, I proved that, but moving the box around requires two people or a good hand cart. The fit and finish is excellent but make sure you measure certain parts correctly or things won’t line up properly causing binding that make assembly difficult. It took me a day and a half to put together but I wasn’t trying to go fast. I highly suggest ordering the locking caster wheels for moving it around once you put it together. Once put together, this thing is rock solid. You are going to have to exert unbelievable force on it to get it to flex at all. This will handle any wheel base you can throw at it. I have a bottom mount Moza wheel base so I bought the wheel plate edition, but if you have a side or front mount wheel base you will have far more adjustability with that version. You can set this to any adjustment you can imagine, but you will probably want to get it at your ideal set up and leave it that way as loosening everything to readjust the positioning of the pedal base and other adjustments is just too darn difficult. Seat adjustment and set up is pretty easy though if you have a side mount seat and still pretty easy with other types as well. I haven’t had much time yet to use it yet as I just got it, but so far, I am very pleased with the quality and versatility of this cockpit. Thought long and hard about which cockpit brand to get, almost went Track Racer, but I am glad I got the NLR. And it looks great in the spare bedroom where I am going to be using it. ... show more

Now that I’ve been running this rig for nearly a year, 6-8 months of that with full motion, I feel it’s time to leave a review and hopefully help some fellow sim racers. Firstly, the product is quality, no doubt about it. The anodizing is super nice and looks great. Overall, I do like the rig but I definitely would have chosen something else. Firstly, the uprights are so freaking long. Unnecessarily long. I had to rig up the seat in a different way that they actually designed it just so I can get a good FOV/POV. And I still am not happy with it because the uprights are still too high. I’m considering pulling my rig apart so I can cut them down. The pedal deck is an absolute pain in the butt to adjust. If you think you’re going to buy this rig so you can switch between F1 and GT style racing, you are sadly mistaken. You’ll do it one time, hate it and never do it again. Other than those things, it’s a solid rig. I personally would not buy it again but if someone really wanted to buy a rig on Amazon, this is a good one. I won’t talk about the upgradeability since every 8020 rig on the market that isn’t hard sided can do all the same. ... show more

For $900 I expect better I bought both the FGT Elite Bottom mount as well as the ERS2 seat for another $300. $1200 in total So far the assembly is intense & a bit frustrating due to poor images & technical writing in the manual. How & which slot to insert the T-bolt nuts. Even after magnifying the image, I still wasn’t sure which slot to put them in. Needed to undo some bolts after the fact to insert the cable organizing clips These were just some of the issues during assembly, But the most disappointing was when I started attaching the Logitech Pro steering wheel. The hole setup on the wheel mounting plate was poorly researched & manufactured leaving out a hole for the front center bolt underneath the Logitech PRO wheel. These means if it’s not bolted down there then every time you unintentionally lift the wheel it’s going to annoyingly rock up and put wear on the two back bolts. That’s inept research, development, & manufacturing. Fortunately I had the necessary tools to resolve this issue, however I’m sure there are others that do not, leaving them to deal with the above noted issues The ERS2 seat was also a disappointing. Pulling it out of the box I immediately noticed busted up plastic in the bottom of the box. That is just poor packaging development. For $300, a consumer should never have to see such. It was a cover, which I expect they will send a replacement, however this cover is a safety issue when it’s gone due to the fact that it covers the reclining coil which is torqued under force. This is a serious safety issue I hope this review is helpful for others considering this purchase. ... show more

Beautiful finish with infinite possibilities for adjustment. It is motion compatible and solid as it can be. Take some time to put together, but instructions are great. Playing a video game with this makes a huge difference. At $999 this was a steal and got it in 3 days flat. Some brands are taking months to deliver. ... show more
