This works great, pulled in structural wall of garage to repair, fix damaged door track, etc. this thing is powerful, and as advertised, does great in horizontal or vertical applications. This unit is a champ (and a beast) for medium duty lifting, pulling, winching all kinda of loads. Seems it would do better than max load a bit. The hooks are SOLID heavy, locking and inspire confidence. The price is right. It’s compact enough to move around among multiple locations in shop, basement, garage. Good for use in remote areas on your property too. I’m planning on building a tall tree house in the Spring and this will surely play a starring role. Love the two remote controls wireless and wired switch. Finding more uses, lift for truck bed cap, canoe, bike lift, luggage rack, furniture/projects to paint/finish suspended easier. Glad I have this confident winch in house now. It’s also fun!

This item is exactly what I needed. Not able to lift like I did when I was younger. I purchased a heavy bag about 75 pounds but awkward. This lift held bag it in place and allowed me to put on the holding chain. Worked perfect.

After one use of the hoist the control cable connector is pulling away from the plug. There was no stress put on the cord when in use. Everything else was good with the unit. It would be nice to know where to get a replacement cord. I was able to get in touch with Newtry and they are sending a replacement control cable! Very quick response, and couldn't be more pleased!! The hoist worked great for the project that I needed it for.

The hoist is very sturdy and has three means of operation, switch, corded control and remote. Lifting up about 12 feet as a motor for an attic lift. Works great, do not leave a load on it

The media could not be loaded. We store lots of good stuff in our attic and use a pull-down attic stairs for access. It's difficult and dangerous to carry stuff up and down those very narrow tiny steep stairs. We tried a hunters hoist pulley system, but it was cumbersome and rickety, and eventually broke. So, we got this thing and it works wonderfully. To mount it, we cut two 2x6s to fit between the attic rafters, stacked them to make a 4x6 and secured the stack with lag screws. We then fastened the included mounting hook to the 4x6 with lag screws. Then we fastened this unit between the rafters with lag screws, strategically placed over the best spot in the stairwell opening. We hung the hoist and oiled the wire cable as directed with a WD oil gel. We use a CleverMade Collapsible Laundry Basket, Large, which is rated for 50 pounds, to contain stuff. The two remote controls make it so easy to use. We keep the wireless on the main floor and use the wired from the attic. This has been a great home improvement project which had added so much convenience and improved safety.

I took this straight to the mountains where it was needed. The first thing I found was the corded controller only works down, up button doesn't work. I would have sent it back but I really needed it so I used the remote. It works, but you have to push the buttons really hard. I doubt it will last long. The load I needed to lift is about 850 lbs. The winch struggled and barely lifted it. Finally, when I got the cable strung out, I found that it had been wound without tension and was all bent and messed up. I managed to get the job done but not with happy thoughts of this purchase.

using it as a utility elevator at my home and it is noisy but not as bad as i thought it would be. it came with enough cable and the battery was in the remote that others said was not included which worked fine . the cable is flexible and it handled the weight easily. TIME WILL TELL if it holds uo but seems to be a good product for the price
