This kit provides an easy way to add a quick connect/disconnect from your battery to your powered devices. With our connection pad and included installation tools, this kit allows you to install the connectors without the need for crimping or soldering, allowing for a simple and fast installation. The High-grade self-wiping connectors, quality eight-gauge wire, and silicone rubber outer housings provide a secure long-lasting connection to your devices. Rated at 50 amp continuous current draw, this kit works well with our NV, X, Kayak series trolling motors up to 55lb thrust and our NK180 brushless kayak motor. It's also an excellent add-on to our Smart Battery Box.

Ease of Use The kit was straightforward to connect. The only minor inconvenience was that the included size 14 wrench did not fit, so I had to use a size 13 wrench from my own toolbox. This was a minor issue, as everything else I needed was readily available. Compatibility After ordering, I realized this item is compatible with motors up to 55 lbs (12V/52A) or 84 lbs (24V/48A). It is not listed to work with the NV 62 lb (12V/58A) trolling motor that I recently purchased. I've been using another plug (also bought from Amazon) for my connector. I've had problems with it and had to replace it one time already. I changed it out with this Newport plug and I'm really glad I did. That el cheapo connector I had on there before was starting to oxidize again, so it was a matter of time before I it gave me issues (the last one oxidized so bad it created a lot of heat on the postive terminal and melted my battery box). Really glad I saw these Newport Vessel connectors on a lighting deal last week. Got them yesterday along with a Newport Vessel extension kit (5ft), and swapped out the whole battery connector rig, cables and all. I did have to buy a heavy duty underground wire splice kit from Lowes to join the connector to my trolling motor cables, but thats just me being a little overly cautious (I dont have a soldering kit or the skills to do so, so I went with a nice splice with heat shrink). The whole process took me about an hour Tested everything out today, and I seem to be getting more power to the trolling motor as I noticed it was going a little faster today. But definitely recommend! Great connector, solid connection, and stays together nicely. Hope it lasts a long time. ... show more

    • First thing you should buy if you have a Newport Trolling motor.
Was getting ready to build one when I saw this. Lets you permanently install one end to the battery which is extremely helpful to not damage the lugs/terminals which are lead or aluminum on most batteries. My LiFePo4 is aluminum and I worry about stripping the threads. This is a really great enhancement that speeds up connecting and disconnecting the battery from the motor on the boat. It also adds about 2.5' of length to the cable overall, which can be a big help in many situations - if it's not needed, a loop and a zip-tie can solve that problem. My only "could have been better" is a cap for when the battery is not in use so the terminals could be protected from a short. It's unlikely, but still would have been a nice feature. I'm looking for one now. But that is not enough to prevent me from giving it 5 stars. ... show more

I got this for my Kayak which is to heavy for me to get out of the water with the motor and battery. This allows a quick disconnect so i can put them on the dock to cart the kayak out quickly. I love it and wouldn't ever want to have a set up without it.
