These worked very well after my eye surgery. At first, I needed to apply cold compresses but the gauze got warm right away. I put a partially frozen one over the wet gauze and it kept it nice and cold for the full 10 mins. It was also easy to wipe the surface of the eye mask with an alcohol pad to keep it clean. The surgeon said my bruising was minimal because I did a great job with the compresses. After a few days, when swelling settles in, you’re supposed to do warm compresses. You have to be careful when you microwave the eye mask. It gets VERY HOT quickly but I found 18 secs to be perfect for me. Move the beads around after microwaving it and use a thin towel or sterile gauze between you and the eye mask. It was so soothing, I often fell asleep while using it. I am so glad I had these. It’s wearable but gets a little uncomfortable. Instead, I’ve worn it on my forehead because my glasses hold it up, so it’s versatile in that way. Came in perfect condition. I only used it for freezing. I used it very gently since other reviews said it ripped easily. I assumed it was because they were rough with it when it was frozen solid. The material felt good and not cheap at all. How I used it: It comes with a bag and I seal it inside before putting it in the freezer. I got these for my adult daughter. We put them in the fridge. One of them broke-poor construction snd water beads went everywhere. In case you weren’t aware, they are deadly if consumed by human or beast. I spent three hours trying to find them all. Don’t buy them.
