How does it compare to the Stock cable(s)? It's way better! The build quality of the cable itself is excellent. The Connectors: The quality of the connectors are definitely better than the Stock connectors. When you lock the Connector in the headphone, twisting the connector does not cause the connector to twist while the rest of the cable does not twist with it. This means you aren't risking damaging the cable whenever you plug and unplug it from your AT headphones. When the connector is finally in the headphone jack it does not cause it to jet out a long ways, as with the stock headphones. The other connector which plugs into the computer is pretty fancy especially compared to the stock. It's metallic with a compressed spring at the end - considerably sturdier than stock. The Cable: It's a cable woven with some very sturdy plastic material. The overall aesthetic of it is really nice. It has a dark-burgundy appearance to it. Length (3M): The 3-Meter length version of this cable i got was perfect for running under my Desk how i wanted to with some leeway! Note that when you initially unpack it, it's necessary to get the loops out, but once all said and done it's great! If you use keep your computer on the right side of your workspace and hate it when the cable crosses over you, then the 3 Meter length is a great choice. In all, i'm very satisfied with this cable. The quality of it deserves a 5 star rating out of me. it anything breaks along the way during normal usage, I'll update this review, but I doubt it will be necessary.

I am very happy with this cable, it is much better than the stock cable on my ATH-M50X and HD-599 headphones. I went with the 1.2 meter/4 foot cable, which IMO is the ideal length if you're planning on keeping your phone in your pocket while using a pair of headphones, and should work well with a lot of desktop setups. The jack on this is high quality, it's metal, and comes with a screw-on 1/4" jack adapter. I was worried the jack would be too bulky (based on the photos) but it's not, and it works on my phone, even though I have a case on my phone. The jack that goes into the headphones is also metal. I've only gotten this cable today, so I cannot say definitively that it is more durable than the stock cables, however my first impression is that it will last longer. There is a spring mechanism around the cable before it enters the jack, which should prevent the cable from being kinked at a right angle, and I think will add to the durability. If I encounter issues with durability I will update my review.

A solid choice to upgrade for warn out M50x stock cables. These are absolutely better than the stock cables that come with the ATs. However, there is still slight noise transmission from clothing depending on what you may be wearing due to the jacket choice on these cables. It should be noted however, it is less than what you would get with stock, so that is nice. Other than that, they seem to be of much higher quality, and I can tell that they will likely last for a very long time. I got 8 years out of my stock cables, and I'd expect these to last even longer.

I bought this cable looking to save a few bucks over buying a new official replacement cable. I also liked the idea of a braided cable because they are usually better/less prone to kinks. Boy, was I wrong. This thing kinked like crazy and was overall super annoying to deal with. I would need to unplug it from my headphones just to unwind it. I don't take these headphones anywhere, they are just plugged in at my desk. I wasn't going to go through the hassle of returning them and buying the official cables at this point. They may have been annoying but at least they worked. That was until Feb 22nd. My left ear started cutting out. I just started using this cable when it was delivered Dec 18th. I would have to wiggle the wire to get the left ear to stay on. They barely lasted 2 months! It was actually so bad that I used a different pair of headphones for a day while I waited for another replacement cable to come in. This time I ordered the official Audio Technica replacement cable. It was $10-20 more than this cable but my original pair lasted years before they all broke. I waited until they came in and I used them for a while to confirm that this 3rd party cable was broken. I'm out of the return window now so there is $18 bucks down the drain. Just spend the couple extra dollars and get the official replacements.

Perfect replacement for the stock Audio Technica ATH-M40x cable(s). While the quality of the included cables may be great, I don't think most people want 10 foot long cables hanging to their legs. This wire fixes all the problems I had with the original wires. It's only 4 feet long, braided with this wonderful metal that feels extremely high quality, it's much more mold-able than the included cables, and it looks absolutely beautiful. It also includes a screw-in 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter, which I really wish they would have done away with in favor of a standard plug-in 3.5mm to 1/4". But I mean they include the adapter, and the ATH-M40x's also come with an adapter, so it's more of a pet-peeve of mine than anything else. Keep in mind, the spring stress-relief is not very well-implemented (this tends to be the norm with spring stress-reliefs, they just don't last), so you're probably going to be better off just removing that from the start and uncoiling it from the wire. Uncoiling the spring from the wire took me around 2 minutes and some small pliers I had lying around, but you HAVE to do it, otherwise you're going to hear the spring sliding over the wire whenever you have the headphones on your head. This is pretty strange, considering that you can only hear any sort of contact with the wire around 1/3 the distance from the headphones. PLEASE NOTE: This is more appropriate for the Audio Technica ATH-M40x's, since they don't include Audio Technica's own 1.2mm cable (which can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LIDDLPO). The Audio Technica ATH-M50x's come with Audio Technica's cable, so I would put this lower on the list of priorities if those are the headphones you're getting/already have.

This is a far superior cable to the OE one. Bends with ease, does not kink and is high quality. The included adapter was a nice touch. Connectors are well made. The red cable behind the black braid looks nice IMO as well. Great replacement cable.

I've bought this cable 3 times over roughly 3 or 4 years. And I want to love this cable. It IS good. It sound GREAT. But the problem is one design flaw that over time completely kills the cable over normal use and it's the only reason it has EVER broken on me. The major flaw with this is the 2.5mm end of the proprietary L lock connector breaks where the rest of the cable connects. 3/3 of these cables have broken due to this issue. What sucks is all you need to put there is some kind of spring or something to keep it from bending like the normal M50x cables! It cuts off the audio on one side on and off before that side dies entirely. If it weren't for this flaw I'd likely be on my first cable and would be giving this 5 stars because it's just that close... it's only this issue that causes this cable to be a deal breaker for me.
