No, these are not thick cotton tablecloths for year round heavy duty use. Yes, they are very festive and cute for seasonal holiday use. Vibrant color and shimmery with metallic thread. I have one on a display table and one on a dining room table to display decorations and they do the job. Purchasing a fabric sight-unseen is a gamble. However, I am pleasantly surprised with this plaid tablecloth! It looks luxe -- not cheap. Just enough shimmer and a pretty tartan style print. I got the round and am going to see if I can also find it in oblong for another table. Very pretty.
