I have been using Bentgo for my kids lunches for many years. This year my daughters wanted the modern which is a little larger then the children' s one but very elegant. I purchased two. The container has a separator inside that is adjustable and they are very easy to clean. The lid on one of the boxes broke, however customer service was very helpful and quickly addressed the issue replacing the product. I had never had any issues with previous Bentgo boxes and although issues sometimes es happen I am very happy with their response.

I’ve had these boxes since my kids started kindergarten and we love them. They’re leak proof, perfect portion sizes, love the colors. They’re easy to use even young kids can easily open & close the bento boxes. They fit perfectly in rectangular lunch boxes. The only drawback I see with the new boxes is the top lid no longer opens flat 180°. The top cover now stays upright. On one side - this new feature because my kids used to sometimes let go of the top lid and it would swing open all the way in one fast motion that the hinges broke. It happened to 2 of their boxes. The new design does not allow the top cover to swing open - but it’s a little annoying to have an upright lunch box lid in front of your face. It’s like having a mini face barrier . It would be great if they just had a better hinge system so the cover can open flat but if you let go by accident the hinges don’t overextend & break.

Update 2: Despite buying this on Amazon, I reached out to the Bentgo customer support via email. They were quick to respond and send out a replacement box once I sent in the requested documentation of damage. I had my box on my doorstep 36 hours later. I’m incredibly impressed. Update to my initial review- I always hand wash these boxes, this one is used by my 1st grader so it’s not roughed up. It’s always packed inside of an insulated lunchbox and is never forced closed. And it’s one of a few she has so it’s not used even 5 days a week. Maybe 2 at the most as it’s not her preferred box. And after less than 4 months the back hinge just cracked right off. Didn’t even make a sound, just popped off so easily that I thought I would be able to reattach. But nope, broken. Very very disappointed. I purchased a few bentgo boxes last year for my kids’ lunches and they were wonderful. But as they grew the boxes weren’t large enough for the amount of food they wanted to take. So I snapped this up this year and it not only looks nice and sleek, and the handle is so pretty against the green color of the box, but it holds so much. I’m able to pack my 1st grader a proper lunch and not cram it in. We still pack a few snacks outside but it holds the bulk now. I also like that the adjustable divider has two options or can be fully removed for one large main space. Our silicone dividers we purchased separately fit nice in the other spaces and it seals perfectly.
