Description

The Newborn 930-GTD Drip-Free Smooth Hex Rod Cradle caulking gun has a steel half-barrel frame that fits 1/10-gal. cartridges and has a 10:1 thrust ratio for use with low viscosity materials such as latex. The smooth pressure rod requires less force and is quieter than a ratchet- style pressure rod. The rod retracts after each pull of the trigger, removing pressure from the tube to help prevent dripping. The handle and trigger are padded for comfort. There is a welded plate in the back for securing the cartridge in place. A seal puncture tool and a spout cutter are built into the side of gun for opening cartridges without a knife, and the hook on the back allows it to hang on a ladder. Caulking guns, also called caulk or cartridge guns, dispense a controlled flow of products such as caulk, sealants, and adhesives from a tube or cartridge. A manual caulking gun consists of a frame which holds the tube, a trigger, and a rod which moves forward when the trigger is depressed, dispensing the product. Manual caulking guns have a thrust ratio; the higher the thrust ratio, the easier it is to dispense the caulk, sealant, or adhesive. Air-powered or pneumatic caulking guns also have a frame and a trigger, but are used with an air pressure regulator that pushes the product from the tube using air pressure instead of a rod. Newborn Brothers Company, Inc. manufactures sealant and adhesive dispensers and accessories. The company was founded in 1974 and is headquartered in Jessup, MD. The Newborn Brothers Gator trigger drip-free hex rod caulk gun features the patent pending, anti-drip gator trigger with a thermoplastic comfort grip ergonomically designed to reduce hand fatigue. Other features include an all-steel construction for increased durability, a professional strength hex rod, and a ladder hook for added safety.

  • High quality caulk gun, comfortable to use
Style: Gun
I needed a caulk gun to apply some concrete crack sealant to my garage floor, and I wanted something a little nicer then the cheapo caulk guns found in hardware stores. This one fits the bill! It feels sturdy and well-constructed, and includes handy features like a tip cutter and a seal punch tool. The grip on the handle is comfortable (though I would still recommend wearing gloves to avoid getting caulk on your hands) and it didn't require much effort to apply the concrete sealant I was using, though the amount of effort needed will depend on how thick the caulk/sealant you're applying is. I just wish they made this model in a 29 oz size as well! ... show more

  • Great Caulking gun for the price
Style: Gun
For the price, this is a GREAT value. The gun works just as advertised with one exception. The tip cutter (used to cut off the tips off the tubes of caulk) doesn't cut all the way through the tube's tip (see pic). However, this is a minor set back. I would buy this again if I needed another caulking gun. ... show more

  • This is the best caulking gun I have ever used.
Style: Gun
I've always bought the cheapest caulking gun available. I paid just a few more bucks for this one and would do it again. There was much less mess; less excess caulk oozing out everywhere. Overall just a much better experience.

  • Better than expected
Style: Gun
Given the price I wasn’t expecting much but I needed the caulk gun that day and didn’t feel like running to the hardware store. This gun works better than my previous one that was twice the price. Easy to use, smooth trigger and gives a nice uniform bead.

  • Love this gun.
Style: Gun
This is my favorite caulk gun ever. I work at a Construction Company that makes houses more energy efficient. I have caulked the Grand Canyon in the last 12 years. This by far is the best caulk gun I have ever used. And it sparkles ✨ BONUS!!💕

  • Nice, but hard to figure out
Style: Gun
Nice gun. I'm keeping it, but it took a while to figure out to release the rod, so I could pull it back. Even after I figured out, it's not all that convenient. The Workpro gun is an Amazon choice. It's cheaper, and has an easy to use, "press here" lever to release the rod. For this one, you pull the rod back the 1/2" or so you can until the little silver tab at the top engages with the pushing mechanism. Then use your finger top to press that tab forward. You can now pull the rod back. Not hard once you figure it out, and it will never happen by accident, but I can't say I'm wild about the design. ... show more

  • Easy to use, and lays down a smooth bead
Style: Gun
Easy to make clean lines with this gun. Has a built in tip snip as well.

  • Very good for the price
Style: Gun
I have multiple caulking guns but this is the first drip-free one I have bought. I have used it for two caulking projects and it worked so much better than the old-style ones. I'm very happy with it and the cost is very reasonable. A 5 I gave!
