This product just arrived, so I cannot judge its durability. The picture does not show the blade balancer, so I was happy to see one in the box. It will sharpen blades. Move slowly and let the grinder do the work without excessive force to avoid damaging the stones.

hard to find and works well

Not easy to use and might even be dangerous. Removed blade from mower and secured in bench vise. The stone can easily “grab” when you attempt to run it along the blade. It does sharpen but one “grab” and it undoes all the work it just accomplished. You need to be very careful about how much pressure you put on it. Too much is what causes problems. For $8.00 it was worth a shot but a good metal file and some patience will get you a sharp mower blade. Do not use this sharpener without work gloves and eye protection!

But these sharpening stones specifically to sharpen my John Deere riding mower blades while still on the mower. Lasted about one minute before the wheels started spinning on the shaft. They did remove a respectable amount of metal before they started spinning, however. That is why I gave them two stars. I will disassemble them and epoxy the both wheels on the shaft and reassemble. The stones will no longer be spring loaded to come apart and adjust for varying widths of steel to be sharpened. However, I’m sure I can make some use out of it at a set width.
