I'm sure a lot of people looking at this cable are not capable of discerning the very highest discrepancies in sound quality. Heck, most of the people that say they can actually can't. I'm sure a lot of people are just looking for a replacement for their Hifiman cable. That's what I was looking for, that's what I got. It's a lot longer than the default cable which means I'm not so restricted at my computer. Threw on some music and to me it sounds great. The stretch of cable closest to your head is not braided, which is annoying. It makes it look a little inconsistent. But only time will tell if that is really a downside or not. One potentiality is that it stiffens like the original did with time and exposure to skin oils and sweat.

This is a terrific replacement cable for Hifiman headphones. It's a great length and is constructed much better than the crappy cable that's included with the headphones. It's not overpriced and all the connectors fit well. Sonics are good and I'm very pleased.

So, the reason why I purchased this cable is because of my level of annoyance with the twisted/braided cable that came with my HarmonicDyne Athenas. That was forever getting snagged and yanking the phones nearly off my head. Since this is a single strand, this cable doesn't have that issue at all. The sound quality seems to be on par with the stock HarmonicDyne cable. The length is good BUT it gets tangled really easily. It doesn't loop well and gets easily twisted. Rather than a cloth covering, this feels more like a plastic and it's really rough. Asthetically, sonically, and economically, it's pleasing which makes it good where it counts. I just find the texture/wrapping to be annoying. YMMV!

If you are a proud owner of Hifiman Sundara (or any headset that need a balanced stereo cable (one end is 3.5mm stereo that goes into your source such as computer or iPod like music player and the other two ends go into your headphone's left and right cup), then simply throw away the cable it came with and buy this cable. The cable that came with Hifiman Sundara is by far the worst cable I have witnessed in my entire life. The cable is "jumpy", short, and overall just horrendous. It works, but it mars the user experience greatly. This cable literally makes a world of a difference in using that headset. This cable is almost 10 feet long, is made with a braided nylon material, and it works like a charm.

Overall, this cable it decent for the price. It is an upgrade over the base cable that comes with the Sundara headphones I use them with. The cable feels relatively decent quality from the 3.5mm to the y-split. Unfortunately once you get to the split the quality becomes significantly worse with the cable becoming wrapped in a cheap rubber casing. The reason I am leaving this review is because of the degradation of the sound quality with normal, gentle use in 8 months. I have used this cable for daily use since June 2022 and now have noticed that the left side of the cable (verified by swapping the cable forwards and backwards to see if it was the cable or headphones) has a slight white-noise or crackling sound. This is disappointing in under a year of use.

Recently had to replace my headphone cable after the original one started to fail, and I like this one a lot more. It's much lighter and less annoying than the cable that comes with the Sundaras, and it's braided so it can withstand a lot more abuse in comparison. I always had the issue of it getting caught on everything since it's extremely thick and made of rubber, not to mention the gigantic right-angle connector on the end of it. If you're looking for a new cable, I'd definitely recommend you give this one a try!
