  • Excellent replacement for the discontinued 4000 model
They are bidding up the remaining 4000 models to astronomical prices on eBay. So I took a chance on this model. I am a touch typist with serious speed; my old 4000 was used so much that there were only 3 keys with lettering still visible when it finally demanded replacement! My keyboard tray is at the proper level and so I find that the wrist rest of this model is actually more comfortable than the 4000 model. This has a very nice "touch" and there was no adjustment period for the muscle memory at all. Highly recommend this as a replacement! ... show more

  • Getting the correct key board.
There was a hole in the box and some of the keys were dislodged. I reinstalled them and they seem to work fine. I love the produce but I had to buy it three times to get the correct key board. I have been a customer of Amazon for many years and they are very reliable. This time was different but nobody is perfect. Anyway, all is well. ... show more

  • Nice keyboard, nice mouse.
This is probably the best value I have found in recent years. Different people like different things about keyboards. This is just what I like about it. 1) I developed muscle-memory quickly with it and don't have to look at the keys very much at all. 2) The keys don't travel very far. (I don't like keyboards with keys that I have to push way down.) 3) It doesn't make much noise. It isn't silent, and it doesn't sound as good as an iMac keyboard, and I do wish it was a little bit more quiet, but it's not bad at all and I wouldn't expect better for anything in this price range. (I am also considering that many people don't like ultra-quiet keyboards, I guess.) 4) It has a few programmable keys. I might program them some day. Just a few things I dislike, but not enough to lower to consider this less than a 5.0 on a no-decimal scale. 1) We usually expect the backspace key to be top-right, but there is a second delete key in that position. Delete is just below this. I don't even notice this anymore and backspace is still one of my favorite keys. 2) the home button is in the middle of 9 keys, so it's harder to find than if it was top-center in a bank of 6 keys. I think it's great for typing text, but I use it to code every day. I was thinking about getting a different keyboard for coding, but I have gotten used to this and I think this one will be fine. Oh, one last thing: it's designed to tilt FORWARD a little bit. This is bad if you are very short and are sitting too low and can't see clearly over the top of the keyboard. Oh, and the mouse is built well. No lose clicky action like some mouses out there. Maybe it could be just a little bigger, though, but I haven't minded since getting accustomed to it. ... show more

  • CAPS lock a real pain
The keyboard is comfortable, but the CAPS lock and the NUM lock are a real pain. Both have small dots that light up when you activate the key, along with a small notice on the lower right hand side of the screen. BUT, those lighted dots do not stay on for long, giving the impression that the keys are not activated when they really are. The NUM lock is not that important, as once it is activated, I don't use that key again. However, the CAPS lock can be activated by mistake, the lighted dot activates for a few seconds and then goes out. If I miss the popup notice (about 2 seconds, no beep), then I am merrily typing away in all caps. Normally, no big deal, but in typing passwords, hitting the CAPS lock instead of the SHIFT key can lead to real frustration in getting the correct password. The only fix, for me, is to disable the CAPS Lock key. I really could not think of that many times that I actually use the CAPS Lock feature. Other than that, the key layout is fairly wide apart making it computable for me to type, as I have arm rests on my desk, so hands and wrists are in line The mouse is adequate, since I don't game much anymore. It has the back/forward buttons on the left side and a thumb rest on the same side. You can make a few changes to how the mouse works, but nothing spectacular. ... show more

  • Comfortable to use

  • It’s quiet and sleek
I like an ergonomic keyboard, this one types so quietly, it’s easy to get used to. The only drawback, which is small is that when I go to hit the letter “a” button, I usually hit the Caps button. The screen immediately identifies the change and I adjust. The only other thing is it doesn’t have feet to prop it up but they aren’t necessary. Oh and the mouse is awesome. I needed wired for work use and it doesn’t disappoint. ... show more
