I am thoroughly amazed and grateful these are just what I needed. My last pair of NB were walking shoes and was last bought 5 or 6 years ago. I do tons of walking but don't drag my feet so the soles don't wear fast and I don't let them get wet, but it was time to get a new pair. These new ones are perfect in every way, absolute comfort, roominess, but snug enough fit with a good amount of comfort padding inside, and they have the exact size dimensions of the last size 15's I had from 5 to 6 years ago, maybe a slight tad wider for even better comfort. I love that they don't pronate (tilt to one side from overly spongy soles) and are even more stable for the ankle than the last ones. They also don't have excessive heel height which is a huge problem for me in this trend of making heels too high since i have ankle issues and had to have surgery on my feet at age 4, so I was told my my orthopedic doctor my feet could not handle excess sloping, i.e., higher heels. In this regard, it reminds me of barefoot shoes with a flatter more even profile, but still with good arch support and still perfect shock absorbing comfort (not excessive since I can't handle excess arches). Glad I came across the perfect fit shoe for me, though there is one thing I hope will last and that is four of the shoelace eyelets in the middle were done differently for stylistic reasons: they are put through some type of fabric loop instead of the leather that the other holes are made to go through. If those loops have stitching that fails at some point then one would have to resort to drilling a hole into the leather where it normally would go through because they had to do this "cool" looking style feature. These shoes are comfortable, fit to size, look good, and can be worn for almost anything besides serious running. That said, because they're made of leather, they can get a bit warm in real hot weather - more of a 3 season shoe. Other than that, they're my favorite all around shoes. It’s not the greatest show but i’m a sucker for an old man show. Comfortable and they fit my feet pretty well. Not to bad if you drive manual and want a shoe you can do that in too. They don’t look to bad in my opinion ether, solid buy for the price i got it at.

Purchased in August 2024 I am now in need of new ones. i wear everyday, work, fun, beach, woods, ect... I am happy to say these have held up nicely and comfortable. I have for many years purchased NIKE shoes and Nike Monarch was the latest ones I purchased at least 12 pairs in 5 years. they did not last but maybe a year at most one pair lasting less then a week, (my fault) but comfort did not last and honestly the shoes did not last many time me wearing longer then I should. most pairs purchased from Nike Store, But I would gladly Buy these new balance again and over the nike shoes. thank you to the person who recommended i try these, just wish i had done it sooner. ... show more

Using these as outside work shoes since I walk over 7000 steps a day 6 days a week. The fit is perfect and they are true to size. The weight is about that of a casual hiking shoe; obviously not as light as a runner but not as heavy as my old work shoes. They feel both comfortable and tough at the same time. I’m hoping this will be the perfect combination for out door work where I don’t need a steel toe or necessarily strong water resistance. ... show more
