Please do not use the adapter for the tank level gauge. This will not function and the tube will get very hot preventing proper gas into the oven. Use a weigh scale to read the tank. Working perfectly without the adapter. Melting a lot of aluminum cans.

I got everything I needed to melt hundreds of aluminum cans into ingots. It took some acrobatics to safely pour the molten metal, but it does warn you to wear protection. It is very loud, so I suggest putting it somewhere people can put up with the noise. In all, I highly recommend the proper gloves and a larger ingot mould. A long steel spoon or ladle to pull the dross out before and after pours helps. I used kosher salt for flux as I was pouring only aluminum; it does help.

My husband has been wanting to try his hand at melting stools metals, so I thought this would be a good kit to start with. Comes with everything you need (minus the propane tank) to get started and works fairly well. We haven’t melted more than aluminum soda cans, but it does good with those. It’s awkward to pour the molten metal into the molds, so be sure to use plenty of protection.

We wanted to melt a little bit of silver and it wouldnt get hot enough for it. It would not even melt pop cans inside there. Not sure what the deal is but it should have at least melted cans.

This is a really hot item. Yes, bad dad joke. But it is amazing to be able to turn piles of aluminum cans into usable material in a short time. This is a completely new level of art for my wife. She is really taking off with casting. I get a feeling there will be a lot of sculptures in our future. This is a really amazing piece of equipment and fairly user friendly for beginners. Just be careful. You could do a lot of damage with this if not handled correctly. So stay safe.
