This melting furnace worked for me to melt about 50 oz of silver into 5 bars. It took a little while and a few attempts to get used to the time and heat required to completely melt the silver and pour into nice looking ingots. I think the 3 kg crucible was the perfect size for me to melt silver into 10 troy oz bars. Actually it was enjoyable to melt all the scrap silver that I've been collecting for the last 30 years. Seems like it took about 20 minutes to heat the 3 Kg crucible to bright orange and melt the silver into liquid form and pour the first bar. After the furnace was hot maybe it took about 10-15 minutes to complete the next melt. Pulling the red hot crucible out out the furnace and pour into the mold is a bit scary, but the the supplied tools were tough enough to do the job safely. The gloves were a little short and barely adequate to protect my arms from the heat. A long sleeved heavy shirt is certainly required. I would recommend a pair of leather welding gloves to protect your arms since working around the furnace is extremely hot. The Nelyrhu service department responded very quickly and they really do stand behind their product. This kind of customer service is important to me.

I bought this to melt aluminum cans. Assembly was easy. All the parts were in the box and they all work together well. They suggest you use the provided, heavy duty gloves when lighting the fire, but they're too thick to use with a fireplace starter, so I used my bare hand and ended up singeing the hair on my hand. Oh well. Subsequent re-lights were automatic because when I'd restart the gas flow, the crucible was so hot the fire re-lit immediately. The two sets of tongs to lift the crucible, and to hold the crucible while pouring work well. The crucible size is okay, but makes melting a large amount of cans, tedious. Initially, I can only put in four flattened cans... then 3... then two.. then one, as it fills up. So it's going to take me a long time to melt 3 years worth of cans (but that's my problem, not the furnace's). I've only done one melting session and I have to get better technique because there was a bunch of aluminum in the slag when I removed it. It comes with one small mold so I used an old muffin tin (sitting in a tray of water) and that worked fine. Overall, it works and I like it.

Furnace works great, but a few things to note. The gloves are not good. After one use it burnt holes in both gloves, I ended up using my welding gloves. The tongs come with handles to put together, mine only came with one set up screws. The moldings are good, no issues. The crucible looks like it's about to crack also.
