  • Great at first. Good service.
Size: One Size Color: Black
I was a little reluctant to use these on my dirt bike because I thought they would just come loose and be a problem but these saddle bags work great. I have taken them on some of the rockiest whooped out roads and they stay put. Occasionally, on very big hits, the bags will bounce up and hit me in the rear but they go right back where they belong and I rarely notice they are there. It was definitely nice not having to ride with a backpack. Update: Dec 5 2018 Took these bags on a 750 mile loop and 150 miles in a seam came apart on one of the bags leaving a huge hole. Luckily I had my items in another bag inside this saddle bag or I would have lost things. I got about 270mi total out of it. Not sure if it is a quality control thing or design issue. The other bag still looks solid. Put in a warranty claim. Keep yall posted. 2nd Update: Dec 7th, I put in a Warranty Claim. I received an email immediately that said I would be contacted within 24hrs with an RA#. It is now Dec 16th and I have not heard anything from Nelson-Rigg yet. 3rd Update: Dec 19th, I ended up calling NR on the phone. They were very helpful and I was sent the RA instructions while on the phone. I shipped everything to NR as instructed within a few days. 4th Update: Jan11th, after holidays I sent an email checking on RMA status. I got an email the same day saying they will be shipped on Jan 12th. I received the bags today on Jan 14th. Instead of fixing my one bag, they sent me a whole new set. ... show more

  • Great Bags for Small Bikes!
Size: One Size Color: Black
When shopping for luggage, I had a few things in mind: 1. Bikes - I need something universal that I can use on two bikes; a 2015 XT250 (shown) and a 2007 Yamaha FZ6. I needed them to be light enough not to zap the limited power of the little bike, but big enough to hold enough gear for a weekend camping adventure. 2. Budget - I definitely didn't have the money for the higher end stuff. 3. Ease of use - I didn't really want to have to completely disassemble my setup to get to the bags or their contents. Nor did I want to deal with racks (see budget category) or a bunch of straps to get these mounted. All in all I have to say I'm satisfied with my purchase. My XT has a Nomadic Tubular Square frame, which in some ways helped with stabilizing these bags but I think they would have been just as stable without it. They are really easy to mount. Although, I will confess that the first time I put them on I put them on backwards. But I found out pretty quickly when I tried to loop the fender straps to the bags lol. Anyway, we took the bikes on an overnight camping experiment to Big Sur. We spent 7 hours on the bikes riding through hundreds of miles of narrow twisties, long stretches of valley roads, and bumpy roads and these things stayed put. I didn't have any issues with the bag gettong hot from resting on the heat shield for the exhaust. The quality of the material feels very durable and the velcro is very strong, as are the zippers. I packed quite a bit into these little guys: 2 changes of clothes, camping stove, cookware, utensils, camp towel, fuel canister, sleeping bag, inflatable pillow, toiletries, and a few other things. They key here is more in your gear than it is the bags though. Most of my stuff is packable so I can get away with more than some folks. I can say that I didn't even have to expand them or use the pockets on the bottom. Although, there are some essentials that I went without since it was a mini-adventure. I haven't tried to mount them on the FZ yet so I will update this review as I put them to use in various scenarios. All in all a great purchase! I had a 60 dollar gift card though so that made this a lot easier. I'm going to start them off with 5 stars but as time tests them I may change the rating. ... show more

  • Best way to carry extra gear on a dirt bike. Very secure and stable.
Size: One Size Color: Black
I purchased this a day before a 4 day self supported moto ride through colorado after i figured out i wasnt going to be able to pack everything how i originally planned. Pack is the perfect size for aggressive trail riding on my wr450. During the trip we did everything from fast 60mph dirt roads to extremely tight /technical /exposed singletrack and the pack stayed put remarkably well even in 20-30+ ft jumps. I probably packed about 10-15 lbs of gear on each side. easy to take on and off too and did not impede body movement in rough sections at all. A couple of important things to note: 1. Because of the pack weight and location it pressed the moto side plastic panel against the exhaust and subsequently melted a good portion of the moto plastic. Somewhat to be expected without a rack and some kind of reflective tape could help. 2. Bring extra buckles or tied downs in case you break the buckles. I ended up breaking 3 buckles from laying it down or snagging the bags on trees or deep ruts/roots. Luckily i was able to get by with the extra tie downs i brought but packing some extra field repair buckles would have been ideal. I think its actually a smart thing theyre not made from metal so you dont end up ripping the bag or causing you to crash if they get snagged on something. The buckle will be the weakest part- but its also the easiest/cheapest to replace. ... show more
