I am a professional artist. This is the best artificial light source that I’ve owned. The daylight color rendering is spot on, but it’s actually nice to have the option of being able to mix in a small amount of warm light as well. The compact size is great and the barn doors are essential for directing the light and preventing bounce. Great light source for painting portraits, it is more than bright enough. I also teach online classes and make instructional videos. This light is great for photography and videography as well. Only small complaint is with the remote app. I don’t know if I’m missing something, but I only seem to be able to use it to adjust the light settings, not to turn the actual lamp on and off. That is a big inconvenience for me because my studio is small and I have have to climb up and around things to reach the light. ... show more

This is a very well made light, with a wide range of temperature (°K) and brightness levels. It is easily controlled intuitively by the built-in controls or by the Neewer app. It comes ready to plug into any 110v wall outlet, but I prefer using the v-lock battery (optional at additional cost). You can easily pay more for a similar light, but I am unsure whether it would be sturdier or more durable. I take really good care of my gear, and this is perfect for me.     • Lightweight flimsy plastic
This is decidedly NOT a pro product. The casing is cheap, light flimsy plastic, including the barn doors. This will not hold up for any amount of travel or even light use. Neewer is a lower priced brand, but they have lots of good products. This is not one of them. Brightness is ok, but hard to adjust when dimming. I think the light is great! Surprisingly brighter than I expected! I think maybe the only thing negative I'd have to say is with it being a fairly new model there's not any diffuser for it's size and at the minimum brightness it's still pretty bright. I haven't gotten the battery for it yet to see how well it does in the battery life department but I do like the option. ... show more

Product works great. Manual unreadable due to small light-gray type. QR code to get app could not be scanned. Once I found correct app on the App Store, it would not allow me to register. Used as "guest" user. Finally found manual online and had to use a photo processor to 1) blow it up; and 2) change type color to be able to read it. That's the reason for the rating. ... show more

    • Disappointing and cheaply made
I picked up a set of smaller Neweer LED lights that are super solid, aluminum as I move from tungsten hot lights to LED. I wanted a larger main light and ordered a this model expecting a similar build quality. Wrong. As mentioned by another reviewer, this thing is 100% plastic and not a great design at that. (E.g., the battery port doesn't have room for the battery ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) I expect that the first time it is knocked over will be the last b/c it will be wrecked. But, for $100, I probably shouldn't expect much. Likely will look for a larger version of the aforementioned small Neweers and keep this one as an emergency back up. If you want to use this as an every day light, beware and maybe look elsewhere. ... show more
