Very well done for the price. I recommend you submit your measurements to get this custom built, it doesn’t really slow down arrival. Comes a bit oily so be prepared to do your first shine!

Anyone reading this please keep in mind that the 1st pic is of a man named TOBIAS CAPWELL (look him up , you will find pics of him wearing this very suit} and that any picture after the 1st is literally the WISH.com version. • Value for Price, Aesthetic That Makes you Weep
Excellent piece for the price. I would be hesitant to bring this into tournament style combat, but for choreographed reenactment or LARP-levels of usage it's an awesome piece for a great price ($800 at time of purchase). That said, the steel is thick and capable of taking a hit. Strongly recommended for anyone looking for something with this aesthetic. In general, I just adore this harness. I've rather made my friends and compatriots jealous of the appearance and overall style of it, and I can't be happier with the purchase. Pros: 0. I had a long email conversation with NauticalMart when considering the purchase and when giving them my measurements. They're all very polite and helpful, and I strongly recommend their customer service. Excellent shipping speed (arrived nearly 2 weeks before expected) as well. Shipped through DHL, and they always have good service also. 1. Aesthetic. Wow, looking at this armor it really is just gorgeous. The black finish paired with brass trim accentuates the shape and makes you feel a bit like a fairy tale hero. If you're looking for armor with a prettier side to it paired with a darker color palette, you've likely found your new friend right here. If not intended for actual wear, this could easily be set up with an armor stand to make quite an imposing decoration. 2. Easy to wear, and slightly on the lighter side of average without bascinet. 3. Easy to maintain, with simple joints and easy to understand attachment points. 4. Easy to move in. My very first time wearing the armor, I was able to very easily hit the ground flat on my back and get back on my feet in just over a second total. It limits your mobility slightly, and would be more noticeable for those with narrow shoulders, but is absolutely manageable. Cons: 1. One of the elbow joints was slightly maladjusted, allowing it to hyper-extend and lose the track on a plate. A couple very light taps with a ball-peen hammer corrected that, and I haven't had any trouble with it since. 2. One of the rivets in the same arm as noted above was loose (same arm, but different plate than the other issue). It hadn't been quite squeezed all the way down, so I had to do some tightening on that joint afterwards. It's a steel rivet, so it's not easy to work, but if you're planning on owning and using plate armor you should get familiar with rivets anyway, as you will likely need to replace them occasionally if you use it for long enough and take a hit or fall frequently. 3. I have unusually long and wide feet, so I found the sabaton which were included to be too narrow to fit over shoes and boots which can comfortably cover my feet. Adjusting sabaton is a somewhat more intensive process, but still not something which anyone with plate armor maintenance or general metalworking experience should feel afraid of. It took a couple hours to perfectly adjust them to my preferred footwear, but I have since had no issues with them. YOU WILL LIKELY NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THIS if you have a US Men's size 13 or smaller foot. I have a very wide size 14 foot, which causes this problem for me relatively often. 4. Black finish requires a bit more maintenance than silver, but so far it only seems to take an extra ~15 minutes of time to restore the black finish than you might expect with maintenance for standard silver. 5. I found the couters to be a bit too large, as they impacted the cuirass when I put my arms at my sides and limited my ability to bring one arm across my chest. This is probably the biggest issue I had, so I had to do some pretty big modifications to the couters in order to make them work out. Please note that the attached photo is BEFORE the couter change. Comments: For anyone who is just entering the delightful world of plate armor with this particular harness, please take note of the following remarks. 1. If you want to wear this, or any, plate armor you will need arming wear. I recommend a Gambison or Aketon for your top half, padded chausses for your legs (like fabric chaps), and a lendenier or canvas/mesh grommet-y belt to support your cuisse. As the leg armor is articulate instead of floating for this harness, having a good suspension of the cuisse is incredibly important. Wearing plate armor without suspending articulated leg armor is impossible for any long period of time, so do not skimp on your lendenier or you will be a very unhappy camper. I also recommend leather gloves for the gauntlets which you will dedicate to using for this armor. 2. For maintenance, I've found that the using any steel blackener coupled with an oil like Breakfree CLP and some scotchbrite works quite well. After use, clean the armor with a very light coat of CLP. Then use any standard polish to get out scratches, followed by cleaning the oil from any scratched sections before applying the steel blackener (over-darken to start with) to turn the exposed metal black again, followed by ultra-fine scotchbrite VERY lightly to restore the correct texture and finish. You can finish off with another coat of CLP on the areas which were scuffed to restore the anti-corrosion top layer. 3. The gauntlets work fine, but I found that I was much happier after getting 10 lengths of leather cording (available at any hobby shop) and using them to add a second set of attach points for each finger and thumb. It made the gauntlet feel much easier to use with the second attach point around each finger, and it was much more comfortable than the stock single loop. If you have short fingers, this modification is probably a must have in order to use the gauntlets at all, as the stock loops are quite close to the tips of each finger. 4. If you're going to be using this for light work and want a helm, buy a separate one. The Great Bascinet which comes with the armor would be very tiring to wear constantly, as vision is significantly limited. This isn't a problem with this particular Great Bascinet, but is instead an endemic trait of that particular style of helm. For light reenactment, find a simple Barbute or similar to wear which will be much easier on you over the course of a day. 5. This armor ships is A LOT of oil. This is a good thing, as it prevents corrosion during storage and shipping. That said, you should probably unbox this outdoors (oil smells) and have lots of rags ready to get the excess off before you try to wear this. Armor under normal wear only needs a very thin film of oil, so don't try to restore the intense thickness of oil you got the armor with unless you plan on boxing it for months or years without maintenance. If you do store it, please also put it in bags with padding similar to how it shipped to you. Be nice to your harness and it will be nice to you. ... show more
