I bought these to sleep in while backpacking at altitude in Colorado when the temps drop at night (Mostly spring and fall). First impressions: The Good: Good quality (feels like a piece you could pick up at REI), decent YKK zipper, stitching looks good, snap is sturdy, comfortable waistband, although the tie string at the waist is just extra weight. I'd rather they pull that out and add half a dozen nylon beltloops. Weighed in at 8.4 oz w/the stuff sack. They are not nearly as puffy as the website makes them seem (you can decide if that's good or bad...I was pleased as they fit well under hiking pants. The not so good: They're short. Website says the large are 39 inches (outseam) mine (L) are 38 inches. I'm 5'10' 183lbs and the extra inch would be nice. They stop just above my ankle bone. The elastic cuffs are 10 inch circumference (a bit loose) so in combination, they let in some cold air at the bottom which makes the nylon on the inside chilly. I'll likely need to wear a lightweight base layer under them or tuck them into my socks. I haven't taken them to the backcountry yet but I shoveled some snow at 5200 ft and they are quite warm and comfortable except for the little bit of draft. Was very pleased with the stitching and quality of construction. The baffles fluff out making these pants very warm in a cold camp situation. For me (32 waste, 31 inseam) the large is a good fit in the waste but a bit short. When backpacking I slip these on over my hiking pants to stay warm after the sun goes down. I went with the 2XL, I'm 5'11, 215lbs muscular build male and they fit perfectly. I heard they ran small so I decided to size up, they fit perfectly so I'm happy. I wore them in 25° F weather for a long walk and they kept me warm. Purchased these for backpacking trips in the mountains, they should be perfect for hanging around camp, and if the temperature really drops I can pair these with my sleeping bag for a more robust sleep system. These pants work perfectly for me. I bought a size L although I generally wear an 8. Although they are baggy, the waist fits well and I can wear something underneath. They are not short for me, but if you are taller than 5’6” they might be. I don’t know how well they will hold up yet but I’m delighted to have them. Nice and toasty. ... show more

These pants are awesome for the price. Just order several sizes to big. I am 5’10” 190 pounds west a size 34 inch pant and had to order a xxl. Wore them this weekend backpacking. It got down to 26 degrees and I stayed warm while at camp. My wife which is always cold slept in them inside a down 20 degree bag and never got cold. ... show more
