Great bindings! Was a bit skeptical at first with the price tag but love the bindings. I needed something on the mid/stiff side and these have been exactly what I was looking for. Was considering burton step on but wanted something with a strap and cannot recommend these enough best of both worlds. Super smooth/easy entry and exit. Once you start getting in/out your body gets used to the movement and it becomes automatic and lightning fast. No complaints! I put these bad boys on my new capita Mercury and they look great as well.

I’ve tried step ons, clip ins, rear entry, clews, and clickers, and nothing compares to the Supermatic’s ease of entry, versatility, and reliability. I don’t need any special boots, and it feels super secure with straps. If I’m in deep powder I can use them as regular bindings, but every other moment it is step in (or what Nidecker calls drop-in) time! Nothing is as satisfying as skating off the lift, heading downhill, and stepping in, all without stopping.

These are really great binding to have on the slopes, especially if you’re at a resort with a lot of flat sections. You do have to adjust a bit throughout the day of riding depending on how much ice/snow you let build up in the binding, and in order to step into these smoothly each time you do have to keep them on the looser side. Very solid binding medium/stiff feel, they never randomly unclipped on me. Overall I had fun stepping in and out of these and riding past the rows of ppl struggling to strap in and out, wheeee!

Fantastic bindings! I used to ride old K2 step-ins and Burton step-ins years ago (early 2000s). I ditched them for regular strap bindings and found the support/control to be MUCH better. Step-ins also iced over quickly requiring you to chisel out the packed ice/snow with a tool for them to function. The Supermatic design provides convenience of step-in/on, with the support of straps. If you are in an area where you cannot use the rear-entry (steeps, deep powder, extreme conditions), you can simply use them like normal strap-in bindings. I also have yet to have any ice buildup on these bindings. "I like an escalator because an escalator can never break, it can only become stairs.
