The ingredient list is straightforward—chicken, sweet potato, and pumpkin—and you can tell it’s made to be gentle on digestion. My dog, who can sometimes have a finicky stomach, has had zero issues since starting on this food. In fact, his energy is steady, his coat looks shinier, and his stools are firm and consistent (always a sign of good nutrition in my book). The kibble size is small enough for medium dogs but not so tiny that it feels like filler. The bag reseals well enough to keep things fresh, though I usually transfer to a storage bin anyway. The aroma is mild and not overly “dog food” smelly, which I appreciate in the house. Something to keep in mind: while this is labeled grain-free (which works for my dog), it might not be necessary or ideal for every pup—so always check with your vet if you’re making a big switch. Also, the 12 lb bag goes quicker than you’d think if you have a larger dog, so I’d recommend keeping an eye out for the bigger size if available. Daisy loves his food! I ate at about a tablespoon of canned food with it and a little bit of water and she gobbles it up. She's shedding less, which is always a great byproduct of quality food.

I have 5 dogs. Not only do all of them think this food is tasty, it also has resolved all stomach upsets my more sensitive dogs have. The kibble is on the smaller side so I can give it my Min Pin, my Chihuahua, and my Dachsund, but my larger Corgi Shephard, and boxer mix will also eat it no problem. There has been no significant weight gain, diarrhea or other problems on this food. The texture isn't as greasy as other dog food either, and it smells pleasant. You can tell its a better quality kibble, and is definitely worth the price. I feed my larger dogs about 2 to 4 cups a day, and my small dogs about 1 cup a day. ... show more

I mix this dog food with freshpet for a more balanced diet and my dog finishes everything every time. The pumpkin keeps my dogs stomach balanced, it's fresh he seems like the way that it tastes and it smells good.

After trying countless dry dog kibble food on my 4 Chihuahua's I decided to try Nature's Recipe. To my surprise, they were eating the dry food plain in their bowl. Ive been cooking baked chicken for years along with the dry food and they would eat the chicken and leave the rest in their bowls. My Vet says they are healthy, energetic and rarely need to be seen except for routine care. She always asks What are you feeding them?, as she had reservations about a grain free food. She admits they are thriving and is happy that this food contains the Taurine they need to protect their hearts.
