I found the natural balance limited ingredient duck flavor several years ago and it’s made a huge difference for my cat and my wallet. He used to vomit everything up immediately after eating. I bought the venison. I am trying to find out what is making one of my cats itch so bad. She also throws up with some foods. I wanted a new protein source like venison also need no corn, rice, wheat, eggs, dairy or chicken. I also wanted a disc shaped food. All of that in one food is Very hard to find. This one meets all of that. The only thing I do not really like is that peas are the first ingredient, but if you have ever tried to find one that doesn't have alot of peas that is impossible. I was willing to give this food a try. So far no throwing up which is great. Only time will tell about the itching. I also found a good venison canned food so hopefully that helps too. My senior cat has loved this for 7 years. However our recent purchase must be a different formula. It smells really bad and the color is different. She puts a bite in her mouth and spits it out. I cannot stress how much she loved it before. The previous (not stinky, regular colored) bag she finished off last week. I hope it’s just the lot. My senior cat has been using the Natural Balance Duck and Green Pea (dry food) for about three years. My veterinarian recommended this limited ingredient food to deal with food allergies. She has enjoyed this food since the beginning and has never rejected eating it even during a couple illnesses. I opened a new bad yesterday. There remained a few pieces from the old bag and as soon as I added the new bag food I noticed a difference(s). The new food is a darker color and slightly larger in size. More importantly, my cat has so far almost entirely refused to eat this food. I am very concerned and confused. Pet food companies are under no obligation to tell consumers if they make ingredient changes or change ingredient sources for their pet food. Has that happened here? Please note the photo I have provided. The changes are not large, a slightly larger piece of dry food and also a slightly darker color. What changed? Natural Balance, I'd like to know. Has any other person noticed this difference or have had a pet refuse to eat their food. So I have a cat that is very sensitive to foods and is allergic to pretty much everything. The venison recipe was a miracle food for my girl, she had no issues with the food and she loved it. I’ve been a loyal and greatful customer for well over 2 years. BUT, as of the last 2 months or so this product has been MIA on all websites, I’ve messaged the company multiple times and each time they keep pushing back the date that this food will return to online sales. They keep giving me the run around and I’m completely stressed out because my kitty really needs this food, I’m so upset and disappointed with them. They offered no solution, except “wait for this date” but when the date rolls around…nothing. They’ve stopped replying after doing this for the 3rd time. Be wary of this company, one day they may run out of your cats/dogs only food option and offer no support or sense of urgency for your fur babies health needs. ... show more
