OK, so here we are. I've ordered TWO of these because our 25+ year-old trees had finally had enough. We had always had an issue with the old trees, as they had the cheaper branch assembly where it was supposed to fit the hex-shaped end into a hex-shaped hole. Over the years, they became round holes, and the branches lost most of their bristles. So I reviewed and read and studied, looking for a skinny, pre-lit, 7.5' tree with LEDs and white/colored bulbs. I found no more than 3. So here's my review... Upon opening the box, I found the claims of the tree being 'thin' to be true. But let's think about this. If you took a cross-country trip in the back seat of a 1972 Camaro, and you never got out, how cramped would you be after 48 hours? So let's look at this tree. It's been jammed into a tiny box for weeks or months. It needs to be 'fluffed'...in the non-movies way. I stood it up and had it lit up in less than 3 minutes from box to board. However, upon initial assembly, it does somewhat resemble a 12-year-old anorexic Ethiopian tennis player--it's very thin and spindly. So I set about my mission--to get this thing fluffed up. I started at the top, pulling the branches down, straightening them out, and spreading them as they were meant to be spread out. It's almost a 'starburst' method on the branches. The top was just a random 'pull down and put in place'. After 30 minutes of this mind-numbing action, I found the tree to be quite attractive...and quite full. Sure, the wiring was haphazard, and some of it had gotten tangled. So what? The branches are malleable wire. I was able to put the wiring where I wanted it and twist the branch tip around it where I wanted it. Wires are still visible. Such is life. Look at any tree with less than 5000 tips and you'll see wires. This tree has about 1250 tips--it's not thick, lush, or dense. The tree's shape and size is literally in the name--SLIM. If you want an ornament-free tree that hides most of the wires and will be free of any decorations at all...this ain't the one. But for those of us who choose to hang every homemade ornament from our kids since 1987, along with the balls and garland and all the other stuff...this is plenty dense enough. The tree's size is accurate. We measured out a 35" space, and it fits perfectly. The worst part of the entire tree, from top to bottom, is the little wobbly piece on the very top that you shove up the angel's posterior portions. Do I care? Nope. When I jam it up the angel's dress, it's well-covered and well-purposed. Lighting is dispersed well throughout, and the 10-function remote is cool! It does need a timer, as stomping the control a half-dozen times to turn it off/on would tend to lead to failure much more quickly than if you have it on a timer. But plenty of options, with twinkly white, twinkly colored, pastels, fade in/fade out, steady on...it's great! And we have one tree that's white-only lighting and one that's color-only. Since the trees are matched, we don't have to keep track of which is which. We just stomp until our lights are where we want them. For those giving negative reviews because it's thin, anemic, scrawny, not bushy, etc...you didn't try hard enough. As for the lighting being hinky, it did take a pull-shove to get the top section to light up on one tree. Again--part of learning the tree. This isn't like that new car you buy where 17 people take care of the detailing, the oil change, the fuel, and cleaning the windows. This one requires a little effort on your part to spread the branches, place the lighting and wiring, and the biggest trick--a small 'twist' between sections to fill in the gaps between the sections. Line them up in a staggered fashion and you're good! I can assure you it's worth the effort. Santa will be pleased with this one and leave a new Hellcat in the driveway for my efforts. The media could not be loaded. There is absolutely nothing I dislike about this tree. With that said here we go. Set up was so simple. I slipped the tree together and it lit right up. There are probably not as many lights on it as they say. But there are plenty. It has three different sets of colored lights. But they are in the same light so each light is actually each color and switch from color to color. Check out the video I posted with this review. If you don't think this tree is worth it. Try a Walmart tree then you will think otherwise. Get this tree and enjoy!! I read review after review. Ordered and canceled several times. But I can say the size is perfect for me and I have no regrets. I'm glad I splurged. I hope it lasts for years to come. ... show more

The positives of this tree are first its narrow size is great for my small condo. It is super easy to assemble (only two sections plus the stand). After you fluff it out it’s a great looking tree. The needles weren’t falling off all over the place, and it had a nice full look. I also like the multiple options for the lights, being able to change from colored to white, blinking or solid, and a few others. My one caveat, and the reason for deducting a star, is the arrangement of the lights themselves. On the top third of the tree there are some glaring dark spots which might not look so evident in my photos, but stand out clearly in person. I will be adding a couple extra strings of lights to plug ornaments into, and that will fill the gaps, but I shouldn’t have to. Overall I am plenty happy with this purchase otherwise. ... show more

    • Weak branches, easy to assemble

The lights look nice but there’s not many of them at all. I knew based on previous reviews that there would be a lot of space between the branches, which was fine because I had a lot of ornaments for it. Only problem is the branches are so weak that you put an ornament on one and it sinks down like three inches and everything threatens to slide off. I’ve had to bend each branch up and balance some of the ornaments on multiple branches. The ligh color change is nice but I would not buy again. ... show more

This tree definitely is not sturdy. Trying to put ornaments on the tree, the branches are so limp the ornaments fall right off the tree. Even the tree topper had to put so many branches together for it to even hold the topper. Once Christmas is over, we are wanting to return and get our money back. Very disappointed especially having the same brand of tree before and that was a good tree. Can't return now, we have it decorated and won't have time to get another tree and decorate it before Christmas. ... show more

We got the 7’ tree. I wanted a narrow tree for our apartment but was worried that once I saw it in person it would look off somehow — too narrow, maybe? Well it looks amazing! I’m posting pics that show it both in daylight & at night. I did add a strand of lights but that’s because we like a maximalist approach to our tree decorating. You can see in the last photo here that it also looks great only using the lights it comes with. The tree is so easy to assemble! You basically just push the two pieces together until they click. Presto! All the lights now work once the tree is plugged in. (In other words, you don’t need to connect the two pieces with a cord to make all the lights work) . I see a small number of other reviews complaining that the branches are too sparse. That’s just how it’s packaged. If you take a few minutes to go through and spread the branches out to fill the space, the branche coverage is, in fact, pretty dense. ... show more

This tree is not like the picture posted. The lights are not placed equally around the tree. They are bunched up in areas and some branches have no lights. Really disappointed in the look. Going to keep it only because of the hassle to return and it’s getting late to find another. Always thought National Tree was a good company with quality trees. Maybe a just got a poorly produced one! Blessings to all! ... show more
