The Look: These shelves were ideal for our specific room as we have a fireplace centered on the main wall. We wanted something to hold electronics and boxes as well as various decorations. When choosing shelves, they need to compliment the decorations on them, especially when they are vertically long. Otherwise they can easily detract and distract from the design look you are going for. These are simple wood shelves with metal frames around each individual shelf. As seen in the pictures above, they definitely add an excellent touch to a room that would have been hopeless without them. The Build: The shelves (sold individually, not in pairs, we purchased two) arrived in slim and tall cardboard boxes. They are easy to build as they are essentially just two rails and five planks. The planks mount to the rails and the planks are slotted to fit flush with the rails. All hardware is included including the drywall screws. Straightforward instructions were easy to follow. The shelves are about a food wide protruding from the wall allowing for electronics and boxes to be placed with cords easily. All or our boxes and electronics are placed in the wicker box on the left shelf that feeds to the tv through the wall. The Feel: It is definitely as sturdy as it can get given it is mounted to drywall, although it can be mounted to studs if they are present. There is a small lip that protrudes downward from the upper rail that is screwed to the wall. Since the mounting point is back against the wall and every plank also makes contact with the wall, it is an extremely well-thought out setup with the center-point being away from the wall. This means any and all items placed on the shelf within its weight limit contribute to its support. The legs that come in contact with the floor are not attached, and the weight keeps them in place. The original product I got came with a few scuff mark and one screw hole that was faulty. I called their customer service and got a replacement right away with no problems. The replacement furniture came in ship-shape condition. Nathan James then requested for photos of the faulty pieces so they can have it for learning purposes (which I emailed them). They thanked me by sending me chocolate. WHAT?! If that's not next level customer service, I don't know what is. ... show more

So so. Don't love for the price. For the price, it seems cheap. Can see how cheap the platforms are from the bottom when sitting on the couch in the living room. Sturdy though. Not fancy by any stretch. May want to rethink putting this your living room. I would use this in the garage, perhaps not for the price though ... show more

We purchased these after looking at comparable ladder shelves for our MCM spare bedroom/office space. We started looking on Wayfair and Allmodern, but these were nicer looking and sturdier as well as cheaper. The metal banding around the edges of the shelves means they will withstand use, since the shelves are not solid hardwood. The walnut finish on the shelves is a bit "grainy"/bumpy, but still very nice and feels durable. The color of the walnut matches quite well with our other walnut pieces in the room. They are a breeze to put together, needing only 2 screws per shelf (a drill/driver with star/hex bit makes this even faster). I attached them to the wall using drywall screw anchors and they are plenty stable. Very nice looking shelves. ... show more

If you are like me and you plan to put these side-by-side it will not look right because unfortunately they don’t match I don’t know why they bother selling them as a set if they’re not matching and coherent because sitting right next to each other you can clearly see the difference is one smooth the other ones rough one is darker than the other one and one has a metal edging where is the other one has a thicker wooden (no metal) shelf I’m really disappointed in this product because it showed them in the video they were the same both wooden and they looked great together and like I said I planned to put them side-by-side and now it just looks Like I bought two different item from different companies products when in reality I bought the same company’s products together as a set I didn’t buy them separately I bought them together and they still don’t match. ... show more

i had been researching book cases/shelving etc. for a while...and when i saw this....i couldnt stop going back to it. i love the look of the metal in the wall...only downside...you cant move it. it is sturdy, was easy to put together...by myself. i love it. i will say it does chip REAL easily....the fake wood, but i stll love it. i bought two and it has transformed my space beautifully. i'm glad i got this size and not the bigger one. this size i perfect for my living room. Shelf itself was in good condition and looks exactly as the pictures. I put it together myself in less than 30 mins. I did have to unscrew one side of the frame support as it was not possible to get the middle shelf in properly without doing so - but was easy enough to adjust for. The difficult part was screwing in the frame to the wall because the space between the curved frame and wall isn't large enough for my cordless drill. Also one of the screws for the wall stripped halfway through so no I have to figure out how to remove it and replace the screw. ... show more

This bookshelf fits perfectly in the space. I didn't want a traditional boxed in bookshelf, because it's a small space, and I didn't want it to appear closed off.
