I have bought and returned several other stools, and initially this seemed better by comparison: the specs are as advertised (so I finally found one with the right height), and it’s comfortable and reasonably attractive. Assembly was as expected until the last step — putting in the secondary screws to stabilize the footrest bars. There are eight of these smaller screws, to match the eight pre-drilled holes, but only two grabbed properly and stayed in. The others spun around in holes that were slightly too big. When I righted the stool, they fell out. I didn’t want to deal with disassembling the thing and shipping it back, so I tried to jerry-rig it by jamming rolled-up black electrical tape over the screw heads and sealing them in with more tape. What a slovenly solution and disappointing experience. I’ve come to dread these DIY assemblies that inevitably suffer from poorly engineered parts. How hard is it to drill a properly sized hole for a screw?? UPDATE: After notifying the company of the problem, I received a prompt and gracious response resolving the issue. This is rare under any circumstances but particularly (in my experience) with Amazon vendors. If I have to order similar products again, I will seek out this company rather than take my chances elsewhere. ... show more

Excellent customer service! I needed a replacement leg (one had screw hole drilled in the wrong place). Customer service sent a whole new barstool, emailed me three times to make sure the replacement was good, and sent me a box of Godiva chocolates to tell me they were sorry for my trouble! I ordered the grey seats with white legs. It matched my decor perfectly and reasonably priced for a sturdy stool. I ordered one to make sure it matched and comfortable to sit on, it was perfect! So I went back to order 3 more. I went to the “returned” section to see if it may be worth the price. They stated that they were returned with all pieces intact. And significantly cheaper, So why not? I got all 3 and put them together which was super easy! I had my husband only come in at the end to screw the last of the screws in. The last one I opened had a broken foot rail. But still, all pieces were in fact in the box! I emailed customer service and they sent me a new stool which was way more than I expected.. came within a few days and it’s perfect! They all matched perfect height, seat width etc. I came home today and found a box of chocolates at my door! Whaaaat?! Who are they from? I opened the card and it was from Nathan Lane thanking me for MY patience while they made it right! Little things like this definitely make me want to order more things from them!     • Great seat weak screws

The seat on this chair is wonderful. It is nice and supportive. The screws for the chair support keep falling out. I would suggest using wood glue to make it stable from rocking back and forth by up to an inch. Until I get the screws to not fall out, I will not another.

I was hesitant to buy these stools due to all of the mixed reviews, but I’m glad I did. I bought 3 of them to tuck under my breakfast bar. They look very sleek and opened up the space. The cushion on the stools is very comfortable. The reason I gave these stools 4 stars is that while they are sturdy for the most part, there is a slight wiggle to them, but I think that’s to be expected in a way. Assembly was fairly easy and straightforward. 2 out of 3 stools were very easy to put together;however, the last stool I had trouble getting 3 of the legs in. I ended up flipping the stool over and adding my weight to push the legs in and that did the trick. Lastly, I did order the gray cushion with the white legs, but the gray is more of a cross between gray and beige. They still look great, but I don’t feel they are a true gray. Overall, I’m happy with these stools and they are exactly what I was looking for! ... show more
