My 6 year old got these to catch butterflies. He hasn't had much luck, besides a couple of ugly moths. But I found them the most useful in my battle against grasshoppers in my garden. The method is to quickly cover them with the net and they jump right into the trap. I like to put it on the ground and dispose of them with my foot. But my 6 year old, who is my grasshopper battle buddy, likes to keep them in jars (gross). So if we decide they are big enough to keep, we catch them and twist the net at the bottom. Carry them to their Death Jar, um container, and very carefully take the lid off and untwist the netting and bop them down into their new home. It really is a great tool for your garden needs.
