  • It's just OK
Kind of a flop of a keyboard unfortunately. At the $100 price point there are alot of great keyboards out there with great feature sets. A few years ago being hot swappable was the only feature I cared about at this price point. Now there are so many keyboards at even half the cost that have that feature, and the one's at the matching $100 price have way more going for them than this one does unfortunately. We'll start off with what this keyboard does have going for it. The key switches are good, They're a basic tactile switch, they don't feel to scratchy and feel solid. The keycaps feel nice however I'm not a fan of the color so I swapped those out. The volume wheel is cool to have, I like seeing some sort of additional type of input like this on boards. And now onto the bad. I would really have liked to have seen some software control but as of this review there is no software on their site. This is kind of disappointing because I don't really like any of the rainbow rgb lighting patterns and having a single solid color is nice but again, you can't completely choose the color outside of the few options given. Another thing is that the board also felt not hollow but because of its thin profile it still feels like a cheap keyboard. It's hard to explain but I just feel like it's a toy. The board sounds decent but using it just felt like some corners were cut resulting in a cheap feeling board. For $100 I expect more from a board now, I have about 15 other keyboards in this price range and even cheaper that I enjoy much more than this one. It's unfortunate because there is a previous design of this board that had a removable faceplate and that board seemed much better than this "pro" version. ... show more

  • Very similar to the K870T with some added functionality
This keyboard very closely resembles the K870T and works very similarly. (I’ve reviewed that keyboard separately.) The chief differences are: • a 2.4GhZ dongle for slightly more reliable wireless response in addition to the Bluetooth connectivity; • Double-shot, opaque PBT keycaps for better acoustics. Though the keycaps absolutely sound better than the thinner ones on the K870T, you’re not going to get shinethrough. They feel good, but sound clacky and amplify some pronounced stabilizer rattle. Don’t get me wrong. I would absolutely pick this board up over the K870T just for the enhancements to connectivity, but the keycaps would need to be replaced almost immediately for something better suited to a dark gaming cave environment, particularly were I taking advantage of FPS or LOL modes. If *you’re* trying to decide between this and the K870T, though? Grab whichever one speaks to you more unless you have a compelling reason to prefer 2.4GhZ over Bluetooth. If keycap thickness or acoustics mean something to you, you probably aren’t going to keep either of these boards stock regardless. ... show more

  • Heavy, satisfying TKL with a few interesting features
Color: Brown Switch
Ajazz has been killing it recently with their lineup of co-branded keyboards and switches. This TKL board is no different, and is an excellent next step after trying inexpensive entry-level options. This is my first time using their Huanuo brown switches, which remind me of the kiwi option in their Daidai fruit-inspired line, but lighter. The tactile bump is a bit of a tease, and the switches straddle the gap between tactile and clicky in a satisfying way. Brown switches tend not to be too heavy, and while these are no exception, there's a bit more actuation force required here than in most Gateron or Kailh implementations I've come across on stock boards like this. They sound great and not *too* loud, but you can swap them out for something else if you feel the need. Using this keyboard on MacOS is a delight, since you can use a dedicated Mac layout if you want to instead of remapping your muscle memory around the very slightly different Windows layout. If that doesn't work for you, you can switch layouts on the fly. I do wish a command key had come with the colorful extras, but that's OK. There is some inconsistency between how the opaque, brightly-colored optional keycaps sound and feel vs. the thinner-walled shine-through caps the board defaults to. The default keys are a bit on the hollow, clacky side, and the legends aren't always the easiest to read in low light. This isn't enough for me to want to take a star off, but it's something to keep in mind. It's incredibly pleasant, after a while using 60% and 65% layouts, to have dedicated function keys and unique control buttons for connectivity. The control wheel over the arrow keys can serve as a brightness control for the keyboard itself, or a volume knob for your computer in addition to the media keys on the function layer. Be aware that the USB-C port is on the narrow, recessed side. Not every C-to-A keyboard cable you have will fit the port, so you'll either want to hold onto the included cable or make sure that your spares can accommodate your connector. This is a growing trend in peripherals, so you may not be too badly off for long. With a fresh set of doubleshot PBT keycaps, this makes a great next step from entry level keyboards or an excellent starter board for novices. If you like your typing a little on the loud side and want a pleasantly crispy take on the old reliable brown switch, you can't go wrong with this keyboard. ... show more
