Breastfeeding had not come totally easy for us, my son's latch was OK but I had to have an emergency c-section and was limited on the types of holds I could manage. When we got home, I couldn't adjust very well to making the holds work without pillow assistance - it felt important to me to keep trying as my son genuinely seemed to prefer breastmilk to the formula and I wanted him to have the best of both options. We managed to get back to the breast a few weeks later but I was needing to hunch over to do football hold + other pillows like the boppi were doing nothing to help. I read reviews suggesting this pillow was a game changer and really wanted something that would make breastfeeding more comfortable. And wow what a difference! No more awkwardly hunching over, Baby could rest comfortably on the pillow while feeding and I could hold him for longer periods after feeds far more comfortably. Feeds became sessions I enjoyed and the soft minky material was super comfy for baby too. There was many a time where he would finish a feed and contentedly enjoy a milk-drunk snooze on the pillow. Perfectly balanced so I could hold him but check my phone or watch something in comfort. Now we both enjoyed breastfeeding time and I looked forward to the nights when I could feed and watch something low stimulating in the wee hours. The material has been easy to wash and still super soft after, the memory foam holds well. About the only minor issue with this one over the other versions is the strap being velcro instead of a clip. The velcro is starting to fray after 3 months use now but still holds mostly OK. Though at this point baby is starting to outgrow the pillow a bit at 4 months (in fairness - he's grown quick!) The part of the pillow that holds the baby has like little "mounds" on the left and right side that help keep baby stable once in position. This helps way more than you think it might! As a new mom of 2 under 2 with major back issues — including a collapsed disc — I knew nursing was going to be physically challenging. I’ve tried other nursing pillows in the past, but nothing came close to the support and relief I’ve gotten from the My Brest Friend Super Deluxe . This pillow has honestly been a lifesaver during such a vulnerable time in my postpartum journey. Why this is different: • Firm, structured support: Unlike other floppy pillows, this one stays exactly where I need it. It holds baby at the perfect height and position so I’m not hunching, twisting, or overcompensating with my shoulders and neck. • Backrest is a game-changer: The built-in lumbar support is no joke — it’s the only pillow I’ve used that actually helps me sit upright and take pressure off my lower back. That alone makes it worth every penny. • Strap + buckle = stability: The wrap-around design with an adjustable buckle means it doesn’t slip or slide during nursing, even with a squirmy baby. The Brest Friend Pillow was recommended to me by my lactation consultant, and I’m so glad I listened. The support it provides is incredible. It has made breastfeeding so much easier and more comfortable for both me and my son. The firm foam keeps him perfectly positioned without sinking, which has helped reduce strain on my arms, shoulders, and back during longer nursing sessions. The cover is also a big plus. It’s very soft and comfortable against the skin, which matters a lot when you’re using it multiple times a day. Overall, the pillow feels thoughtfully designed and extremely supportive without being stiff or uncomfortable. My only downside is that it can make me feel a little warm while nursing, especially during longer sessions. My NICU baby was a month premature and only 5lbs 2oz. Being such a little bub, this pillow was a great tool to elevate him and help us on our breastfeeding journey. It's firm, but not too hard and was easy to wash the cover as needed. I appreciated the back support and the pocket to place a rag or my phone. I ended up tipping the ends on the armrests of my chair to help keep him elevated (he had excessive spit up issues that may have been related to dairy in my diet or prematurity). This pillow is excellent for breastfeeding a newborn. The cover is a soft, lovely color. The pocket is quite convenient for a burp cloth, nail file, breast pads, or whatever item you'd like to keep close. It cleans well and is easily adjusted for a wide variety of sizes. I would say if you're extra small, this would not accommodate your body well. It gives great support and helped my back much more than other name-brand pillows in the early months. Unfortunately, babies will outgrow this pillow by 3 months old. I was also disappointed that the waterproof cover only covers the front part (where the baby lays). The lifted spots for a newborn become a hindrance as babies grow. The pillow also makes the mother excessively hot. That may not seem like a big deal, but when your baby is feeding 12 times a day, with some of those feedings being 30-40 minutes long, it is a huge nuisance. This is not travel-friendly, but that was not important to me in the early months. While there is room for improvement, I am (mostly) happy with this pillow. However, for the price, I would have loved to know this wouldn't fit my baby for very long. If you can budget multiple breast feeding pillows, I would recommend this for newborn feedings.
