This is a nice alternative to the more expensive styles by them. The outer cover is easy to remove and clean. The more it’s washed, it gets a bit harder to put back on, but still manageable. The sponge isn’t quite as easy to clean though if you also have an accidental blow out while feeding.

I bought a My Brest Friend from a flea market for $5, and it has been one of my absolute most valuable purchases. Dollar for dollar, it has outstripped every other baby-related purchase. I have brought this pillow on 13+ hour plane rides, used it to nurse in the front seat of my car while making a pit stop on a road trip, and use it six times a day every day at home. It helps me position my baby in a way I can stand without my arms getting tired or worrying about pillows and blankets slipping from underneath me. I have had an extremely difficult and painful breastfeeding experience, and I would not have been able to continue if I hadn't had this pillow. Pros: 1. Love that it latches around your waist. Pull it tight and use it as a platform for your baby in any sitting or standing position. Much better than a boppy, since you can make sure this one is always at a consistent distance from your breasts. 2. Cover is washable. Get a second cover so that you can switch them out after your baby poops/pees/spits up/drools/excretes some other bodily fluid on them. 3. The slight back support makes it easier for me to get comfortable in unfamiliar chairs. Cons: 1. It's big. It takes up a ton of space on a plane, and is difficult to fit under the seat in front of you. For international flights, get the bassinet even if the baby doesn't like it. Then you can store your Brest Friend in the bassinet. 2. It's so good, it's made it difficult to nurse without it. When I realize I've forgotten it or if there's some reason I just can't bring it somewhere, I find the nursing experience much more stressful. 3. The covers are a freaking pain to get back on once you take them off to wash. The first time I washed it, it probably took me 8 minutes to get the cover back on. I'm down to 2-3 minutes now, but it's still a pain. 4. Some people might like the pocket, but to me it's not really in a position where it's terribly useful. I should really keep burp cloths in there, though, for when I'm out in public. When will I learn? Anyway, I've bought this one for my cousin for her first baby, and even though I paid full price for this one, I feel safe in thinking that it will still be one of the best investments in her nursing comfort. ... show more

UPDATE: It is very stiff material for baby to lay on, which is GREAT! She stays exactly in place. I don't use the "humps" for her head, they are far too unnoticeable and short for her head to be breast level. The "wraparound" feature is useless to me as I sit while breastfeeding - it is actually a nuisance. The pocket has a tight top and is very deep, so you'll have to "fish" out whatever you put in there, if it's not taller than the pocket. I also never use the clip as I just use it while sitting, so it is also in the way. I wish it were able to flip upside down to use for either side instead of having one side open so you have to slip it on from one way everytime... Besides these issues, the stiff and sturdy material is great for holding baby and she falls asleep every time - it is comfy and nice to rest arms on while feeding too. I also used the plastic it came in under the fabric and while it's noisy to carry and put on, once baby is on, she doesn't move so it doesn't affect her or the comfort at all [all while protecting the foam underneath!] Haven't tried it with baby yet, this is based solely on product. Decent quality covering, like a linen tshirt. The foam insert is stiff and durable, however, upon unzipping the covering, it snagged on the foam ever so slightly and tore a teeny piece off.... The pocket is huge and the cinch at the top is nice and tight. I took the advice of another poster and used the plastic wrap in came in to go under the cloth and act as a waterproofer...it is noisy, so we will see how baby deals with it. The only negative thing is that the info packet it came with advertised a velcro strap, but it didn't come with one...after reading, I didn't know this feature existed but found myself missing it after finding out what could have been. Definitely not a pillow like a Boppy. Way more sturdy, with lumbar support, pocket, and stays up while standing (though I wouldn't try that with baby on it!]. ... show more

I love this pillow, it makes feeding so much easier and more comfortable. My LO has difficulty latching and having to fight with the boppy pillow to stay on or not to roll her downward only made feeding more difficult. This pillow stays in place and it's flat so there's no issues of her rolling downward. We've had it a month now and use it constantly and it's holding up well. The pillow itself is very light and comfortable, it sat nicely either above or under my postpartum belly and didn't cause any discomfort. I would recommend this to any mother but it's great for anyone with a larger chest. I'm a petite person but my chest size is currently 36 DD - 40 DDD (depending on the feeding day) and I have found this pillow helps support the weight of the breast. The wrap around feature is really helpful in supporting your arms/elbows as well. When it's 2 am this thing is really a lifesaver, it's bad enough being so tired and top it off trying to fumble with a baby and a pillow only makes it worse. This pillow makes it a lot easier to just snap on and plop in a chair to feed. I haven't removed the cover yet to wash it but I don't think I'll put it in the dryer, the cover fits very snug and I would worry heat drying it would cause shrinkage. There's not much give to the fabric so I would be mindful of how you wash/dry it. ... show more
