Quality looks fine but it was missing four of the aluminum “jaws” for the clamp part so not usable. As seen in the picture only four of the L-shaped screws have them attached. Hopefully the replacement will come complete.

The best thing about this clamp kit is that the right angle pieces are made of sturdy aluminum and are actually 90 degrees both inside and outside. I'm less enthusiastic about the clamping bolts as I found them to be fiddly to set up, and it seemed like they were pulling the corner pieces to the side rather than allowing them to sit naturally. I think this is due to the interaction of the longer bolt end that goes through the hole in the corner piece and the relatively short aluminum bar that wedges against the other side of the board. I think I might use bar clamps to hold the corner pieces instead. However, overall the kit works well enough and the essential part is that the corner angles are accurate.

I got these to replace a set of plastic angle jigs. I like these because the inner and outer angles are dead on at 90 degrees as measured with my Starrett combination square. These are solid and rigid and I rate them highly for that basic function. The quality of the machining is mostly pretty good, though the arm of one square showed a machining defect that is visible in picture four. The kit comes with eight elbow bolts, washers and knobs for use in clamping the brackets to boards (see pic 5). These work OK but I much prefer using small adjustable clamps for a more secure clamp (see pic 6). The set of clamps comes without instructions but most woodworkers should be able to figure out how to use these. Inexplicably, the machined imperial and metric ruler markings are not accurate. My estimate is they are measuring about 0.0125" short over a span of 1". If I place the brackets side by side, all the inch markings line up exactly. However, if I flip one of the brackets so they read 1-5 on one bracket and 5-1 on the other bracket, the markings do not line up. What this implies is that the markings are not just all slightly shorter than they are supposed to be, but the markings are variable so that 0.5" on one section of the ruler does not match 0.5" in another section of the ruler. I do not have a use for these markings so I deducted only one star. These brackets do meet their basic function to provide a rigid 90 degree angle and I rate them positively for that. Just don't use the linear scales on the sides of the bracket for any critical measurement.

I have order several of these style of corner clamps, and for the most part the quality and style are very similar, regardless of the brand name. These clamps, however, had numerous defects in the finish. Several of the smaller "T" shaped pieces had actual nicks in the red coating, to the point that I am worried that they would potentially mar the surface of the wood they were being asked to clamp. I was able to be careful about which side I place "wood-ward," which will hopefully eliminate that issue, but it was still frustrating to see this issue. (It may have been because all of the smaller pieces were lumped together in the box. Only the actual 90-degree pieces had their own compartment in the foam. Everything else was just bagging together during shipping and handling.) Additionally: What I've discovered, ordering several small sets of these style of clamps from several different manufacturers, is that they pretty much come in two varieties. This particular set is the slightly smaller variety. That is not inherently a defect, but it is something that means I'll probably reach for this set last, and only when I need to.
