Give It a Real Chance—Especially If You’re a Restless Sleeper
Color: Dark Grey (Carbon)
I originally purchased the Muse, tried it once, and returned it without giving it a fair chance. I have restless legs syndrome (RLS), and many of my other sleep-tracking devices (Oura apple Garmin whoop)struggled to accurately capture my sleep stages because of my movement. Out of frustration, I decided to try the Muse again—and I’m very glad I did. It showed my sleep was better than I thought when compared to other devices which immediately lifted a veil of confusion over how bad my RLS was affecting my sleep. I wear a CPAP mask and initially thought using both devices together might be uncomfortable, but it hasn’t been a problem. The Muse now gives me a much clearer picture of my sleep stages, which is reassuring, and its Sleep Assist features have been extremely helpful when I’m trying to fall asleep. I genuinely love this device. Give it a proper trial before making up your mind. If you’re a restless sleeper who enjoys tracking sleep metrics, I think you’ll appreciate it as much as I do. ... show more

Literally $500 UNRELIABLE JUNK that stops on and off randomly
Color: Dark Grey (Carbon)
Literally $500 UNRELIABLE JUNK. You can't download your own data. Can't connect to Google health. Some nights without any changes it randomly stops. One night or showed 3 sleep sessions. The head band needs replacing every 1-3 months so that's extra. For most things in the app you need to pay a membership. Support is non existent, just by email, and you get canned automated messages ... show more

It does what it says it will.......
Color: Light Grey (Opal)
Honestly didn’t think I’d keep using it... but I am! I bought the Muse S Athena thinking it would be another thing I’d try for a week and forget about. I’ve done that with so many wearables. But I am happy with this device. At first I just wanted to try the digital sleeping pills. I’ve always been a light sleeper and I was curious if it could show me anything useful/help keep me asleep. It did. The app showed where my sleep was getting interrupted and when I was actually getting deep rest. It wasn’t perfect every night, but it made me more aware of what was messing with my sleep and the digital sleeping pills seem to help in keeping me asleep during the night (which is cool). The real surprise was how much I started using the daytime stuff. The focus and calm sessions don’t take long, but they help me reset when I’m in that mental fog. I’ll throw it on for 10 minutes before diving into something stressful and I just feel more steady after. The band is soft enough that I forget I’m wearing it. I’ve had a couple times where the connection didn’t register right away, but support helped me out quickly and it’s been smooth since. It’s not magic and it won’t fix your whole life, but it does what it says it will. And that’s rare enough for me to keep going with it. ... show more

I love my MUSE - Fly Owl Fly!
Color: Dark Grey (Carbon)
I am not able to successfully do guided meditations as I have Aphantasia (an blank minds eye). The Muse is just what I was looking for. The unguided meditations are perfect and I love the strength meditation to make the owl fly. The app is great and with the external audio option I can get biofeedback using other meditation apps. My only concern (thus four stars) is the long term reliability of the fabric headband. As others have suggested, I purchased an extended warranty. It would be nice if there was an option to purchase a replacement headband at a reduced price. ... show more

Some good info, but very frustrating.
Color: Dark Grey (Carbon)
It works, I think. Yes it gives a readout of your sleep and Brain Waves and other items. But are they accurate? How do you read the charts? The Sleep Stages is the best chart. It measures how much REM, Light Sleep and Deep Sleep you get each night. No Idea what the Slow Wave Intensity measures. There is no scale on the chart so you have no idea what it measures. The Brainwave PowerBands should be the most important chart, but it measures the BrainWaves incorrectly. They should be measured in Hz. Instead they measure them in dB. dB measures sound. Are they listening to my brain? The link to the program on your phone is tounchy. You put on the headband and check your phone for the connection. You re-adjust the headband again and again, iuntil you get it just right. Then you lay down and you get a warning the connection was lost. Frustrating. ... show more

Effective but badly built. Failed within months, and no short-term subscription option is offered.
Color: Light Grey (Opal)
I want to be very clear: this device helped me tremendously. From a meditation and awareness standpoint, the Muse S Athena is genuinely effective. The EEG feedback, metrics, and long-form session support made a real difference in my practice, and I don’t regret using it. That said — for a device that costs around $500, the physical build quality is unacceptable. I use this headband about 2 hours per day, carefully and consistently, and it began failing after 3–4 months. No drops, no abuse, no misuse — just normal, daily meditation. The materials feel fragile, strain points are obvious in hindsight, and for something designed to be worn on the head for extended periods, it simply isn’t built to last. What makes this more frustrating is that: There is no short-term or trial subscription option (not even 3 months) The hardware fails well before the price point would suggest You’re essentially paying premium pricing for a device that behaves like a prototype This isn’t a “wear and tear over years” issue — this is a design and durability problem. If Muse fixed the build quality, this could be an outstanding product. The tech works. The data is useful. The meditation support is real. But right now, the physical execution doesn’t match the ambition or the cost. I hope Muse takes this feedback seriously, because the underlying product deserves better hardware. ... show more

Love all the data
Color: Dark Grey (Carbon)
Very cool product. I'm still in my first week so I haven't unlocked all of the info yet, but the data available is good to review. I especially enjoy the meditations that play certain sounds (chirping birds) when your mind is calm.

Worth every penny—game changer for meditation and relaxation!
Color: Dark Grey (Carbon)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was a bit skeptical at first, but I am really impressed with the Muse device. Comfort: The headband is surprisingly lightweight and comfortable to wear. I've even used it to sleep in, and it doesn't bother me at all. Results: It is definitely enhancing my meditation practice by giving me real-time insights. The immediate aftermath of using Muse is a deep sense of relaxation that lasts. If you are on the fence because of the price, it is 100% worth the money. Highly recommend for anyone seeking to deepen and improve their meditation practice! ... show more
