Bought this specifically for the illuminated digital compass. The illumination is super-dim and stays on for barely 3 seconds when activated, but that's not the only problem. When illumination is activated the compass reading jumps around several degrees, probably due to the magnetic field generated when current flows to the illumination circuitry. This sports watch compass does just about everything you need it to out in the field. It has four simple weather predication symbols that are just about impossible to misinterpret, and reads a full 360 degree range. It's accurate up to 0.1hPa/mbar, which is way more than I ever need, but it's still pretty cool to have such precision in the palm of your hand. This handy device has already saved me from getting caught in the rain twice, and I don't think I'll ever climb with out it again. ... show more
