I leave the large pad in the microwave at all times. It serves as a sound buffer so that dishes don’t clank when placed on the tray. When I want to remove a heated dish it is instantly a potholder. The large pad is most useful but the smaller one can double as a trivet to hold hot dishes on the table. They would work great as coasters to prevent water marks on furniture. These are sturdy, dishwasher safe, and so helpful for handling hot plates and bowls from microwave to table. The larger one is almost the same size as the turntable in my microwave, so I leave it in there all the time. The smaller one makes for a great spare!
