I like it so far. I had a different "dumb phone" that I sent back and bought this instead. You can sideload apps. While it doesn't always work flawlessly, I am happy with the phone.

Got this as a dumb phone, after a fiasco with transferring my old number, it worked for a week. Then it randomly stopped receiving messages… if it gets fixed, 5 stars, until then? 3.

no ai was used writing this Im a gen Z new parent and i was really struggling with the phone. I would keep it nearby at all times in fear that i would miss an important call. I personally have used a device since elementary school and i cannot resist the pull of everything it withholds. It became a problem when my children's needs became an annoyance that would interrupt a youtobe session or online shopping. Id say obsessive redd1t searches furthered my medical anxiety. This device has helped. Ive read a book, and cooked more using cookbooks. Im considering getting an airtag for my spouse to track us with when going to places like a wooded hiking trail. Its a lot more inconvenient to be on a computer all day the same as a phone. I realized my bank has a website nearly identical to the mobile app. i have a paper calendar on the fridge now and I installed quartz clocks on the walls. The phone itself is slow to type, i see that a good thing. I tried a flip phone and the typing there was just too slow. This phone is a good typing speed. Once you set it up, updates will slowly roll in, id say each one has significant positive changes. My cell service carrier originally sent a text saying that the mudita was not compatible, but it was worked perfectly since then anyways. I really really wish it was a bit cheaper, but i was desperate for a shift in my life. The screen already has a crack, im not sure how I did that. i ordered a case from a different seller here on amazon and it took a couple weeks from ch1na to arrive in the mail.

Definitely needs improvement for the price. Texting can be slow and kind of annoying, definitely better than texting on a number pad though. The maps can be a bit hard to navigate

WOW! Finally I found a normal phone with some extras out of the grid! No internet but I still have maps, calendar, camera, messages, phone and some cute details that make this phone the BEST for us who were young in the eighties and started to see and use very useful phones where we have a good balance between life and the rest of duties...THANK YOU! I'm so happy with my Mudita! 🤗

How can something this expensive can be so disappointing? The most important part of a phone (the screen) genuinely sucks on this thing. My old kindle easily has a better screen than this. It ghosts like crazy, lacks clarity, and has a very sluggish response time. Those factors make the phone unusable for me as doing basic stuff like reading texts and typing are challenges. The OS needs a lot of polishing and the apps feel half baked as well. Some of them are just useless like the navigation. Adding apps is also a chore as most are incompatible with the display, and the rest cannot run because the phone doesn't actually have enough resources to use that music player you side load when your realize the stock one is crap. The battery life is way below what is advertised. It feels like it lacks any durability, like it could be taken out by a drop from chest height. For the price I paid, I expect a premium product, and that is not what I got. The $400 price for what is basically a small and crappy e reader with a sim slot and a unpolished OS is ridiculous and I would not recommend anyone waste their time and money with this. If you are trying to stop using a smartphone, and expect this to replace it, you will be sprinting back to your old phone in no time and have a $400 hole in your wallet. From now on I will be much more skeptical about online reviews.

works exactly as expected, but if you keep on the back light for too long the battery drains significantly quicker than you might expect. Also, the constant software support on this device is really good, so some issues people pointed out on old reviews are most likely solved, like the lack of playlists and the original map system.

I have photophobia from migraines. I can't use regular cell phones because the light will trigger a migraine. I tried turning the light off on this, but it only gets very dim. It doesn't go off completely, so it's useless to me. Otherwise it would be a very good product.
