My family lives in Maine and swears by Muck boots; I've somehow never had any, will be moving further north back near them soon and decided to invest in a pair for myself. I chose the chore boots because ya girl has thick calves and I was hoping they'd fit. I also thought the reviews about wearing them through snow were promising given the thick tread since I'm going to be wearing these throughout the year in a colder climate. I have not been let down. The boots are really comfortable and they fit perfectly; I have a 17.25" calf and they fit with zero issues. I usually wear a size 9.5 shoe and chose a size 10, which fits with no issues when I wear thick socks. I wore them out into the winter storm we had yesterday as a first Weather Test and I've never actually worn more grippy shoes; I never slid, even when stomping around on the snow, ice, and slush. I can honestly say that these are the first boots I've ever owned where I have not slid on snow or ice. I didn't wear thick socks for this go round and my thin athletic socks were more than enough because my feet were super warm. Very impressed for my first pair of boots and now I know why my family always raves about them. ... show more

TBH I was worried when I purchased them as I have a very high instep and am unable to wear many slips on style boots. After loving a pair of Muck's Arctic Ice boots, bought these as walk about boots for our muddy fields. Within just a few weeks, noticed leaking where the seams meet over the toe box on the left boot. Then, yesterday, our pond overflowed after back-to-back storms came through, so we spent hours in field below trying to rescue the pond fish and the right boot started leaking in the same fashion as the left. Will repair the seams with Aqua Seal, but man, if these weren't a disappointment. Hoping mine are an isolated incident, but just beware if you'll actually have your boots underwater that they may not be truly waterproof. ... show more

I had a different style that I bought years ago. They were ready for replacement and I had felt they were a little too big for me in a 7 so I started with a 6 in these boots. They were too small. It was easy to return the 6s and get the 7s which fit perfect in this style of boot. They are wide enough I can pull them on with jeans and even sweatpants over the jeans. The foot isn't overly big and I can move around in these just like my regular shoes. They keep me dry and clean when I have to break the ice in the kiddie pool or wade into poo, which is what I needed. I wish I had ordered this style the first go round. ... show more

I purchased a $180 pair of MUCK boots first but returned them because they weren’t exactly what I was looking for. I use them to clean my chicken coop & walking my dogs in the woods. My yard doesn’t have grass planted yet so when it rains or the snow melts it’s all muddy. I noticed when I walk in a puddle or the mud that my right foot started to feel cold & realized water was getting in. If It gets wet I have to put them over my heater to dry the inside. I’m very disappointed that they leak. This is a great brand boot & I figured this boot would be as good as the others they make. It’s a very insulated & warm boot. I even wear them with no socks in freezing weather & my feet stay warm. Just wish they didn’t leak, but overall a great boot. Next time I might spend a little more just to stay dry. ... show more
