I measured my dog, 45lb American Staffordshire Terrier, and purchased based on the suggestions in the description. I thought an XL would be too big as she is normally a large and tightly fits in mediums. Per the description she was in the XL size by about 1 to 2 inches for each measurement. It was very bulky on her so I started a return and purchased a L. This is super cute and if you can get the correct size I would highly suggest purchasing. It looks like it will be nice and warm also. I will review the Large once it comes in. The L was a little tight in the chest and a little short down the back but otherwise seemed to fit well. I kept this as it will still be good for short winter walks but it is too small for her to comfortable lounge in. Super cute comfy hoodie! My dog loves it and it fits perfectly. Some reviewers said they run small so I originally ordered an XL. It was way too big so I swapped it for the L which was the correct size on the sizing chart. Maybe it depends on the shape of your dog. Really cute on my doodle.... but I didn’t think about how long the tummy part of it is. It’s so long that my dog soaks it if he potties when it’s on. So I can’t really use it for our walks, which when he needs it.
