  • Excellent KVN switch
I work from home 2 days a week, so I need a KVN switch to use my home monitor and usb devices. This switch works great, but you need to make sure that all display cables that you are using are 8K.

  • After couple days, Display 2 only could support 24hz.
Well, I only had this kvm switch for a couple weeks and it was working really great, until today. Before I was able to select 60hz or 144hz for both monitors, but now one of them only supports 24Hz refresh rate. It’s so bad. Very unhappy.

  • KVM Switch That Requires Generation 11 or Newer CPUs.
The MST Displayport KVM Switch listing did not state, unless I missed it, the computer CPU requires support for 11th generation. I had my older i7-5820K CPU computer and my new 13th generation I7 computer all connected as per the user manual and I could not get a signal on the older i7-5820K display port connected to the old computer. The HDMI signal from the 13th generation I7 computer was good. I couldn’t figure it out until I read the very back of the included manual that said CPU requires support for 11th generation, bummer. Another thing I didn’t like is you have 2 Displayports in but a displayport and an HDMI port out to the monitors; why not 2 displayport signals. There may be some technical reason for not having two diplayports out but, I don’t know what it is. Also, make sure you have high quality 8K HDMI and displayport cables or you may have problems. Adapters may cause problems too. I think this switch would be ok if you have generation 11 or newer CPUs but I am unable to use it as intended. ... show more

  • Works as intended but you need to have DP source ports from your computers
I was a little skeptical on the one source in and 2 monitor out. But it does work and you need to make sure your GPU is the right display port spec. As it states in the description, you cannot use a an HDMI to displayport or any type of source to Displayport for the inputs. The outputs are a different story. For out you can use a displayport to hdmi adapter. The biggest advantage to this IMO is the increase to 4k@120 x 2 monitor rating. Many kvms can only do 4k@60 so this is a big jump for you gamers or creators who have the higher monitor MHZ. I still wish they would make the button on the wired remote bigger, but it does work. This kvm also helps to reduce some cable clutter as you only need the one DP cable and a USB per computer. A big bonus is you can select which output is your primary display. Either the HDMI out or the DP out. ... show more

  • So far so good!
The KVM has been working well so far but it does have it quirks! Right up front I would say for you to try and use the cables that came with the KVM. Apparently it's a little particular about the cables you use and one of the DP cables I previously bought wouldn't work very well. Also make sure the USB connection comes directly from your computer and not through a USB hub. You CAN use a USB Hub on one of the USB ports on the KVM so you can expand your connections there. Also for whatever reason I couldn't use a HDMI to DP cable on this KVM. So I had to use the USB C port on my Macbook Pro since it doesn't have a DP port. Once I did that things have been working well so far. So basically this ia a good all around KVM with a few quirks that can be worked around. If you are on a budget then this is a good option. If you want a "quirk free" option expect to spend quite a bit more. ... show more

  • Works Well. Setup Can be Tricky. Learn from My Mistakes.
This KCEVE DP DUAL DISPLAYS KVM SWITCH is a little tricky to set up correctly, but when you succeed, it's brilliant! After some trial and error, I have this KVM switch working perfectly. The Basic Setup is Simple. - Use the USB cables provided or similar cables to connect each computer to the USB input on this KVM switch. - Connect the display port (DP) cables from each computer's display port output to the corresponding display port input on the KVM switch. - If you do not have display port output on your computer, you can use a USB-C to DP 1.4 adapter. DO NOT use an HDMI to DP adapter from your computer to the KVM Switch. It WILL NOT work properly. Trust me. I tried this first. - Connect The KVM switch outputs to the corresponding monitors. Note that one of the outputs must be HDMI and the other must be DP. - If neither of your monitors have a DP input, you can use an adapter to connect the KVM Switch’s DP output to either HDMI or DVI. It would probably even work with VGA. Erratic Behavior - At first I did experienced some erratic behavior such as one of the managers flashing, or monitor not switching computers when pressing the switch button. Resolution: I tried a number of different things to fix this behavior and what ultimately worked was improving the quality of all connections, all around. For best results: - This KVM switch is very impressive. It includes 2 DV cables, 2 USB cables, and 1 HDMI cable. These are high quality cables, and I would recommend that you use these included cables if you can. They are short cables – about 3-feet, so they may not be long enough for your needs. - Connect the USB cables directly from one of the computer's USB 3 ports to the KVM switch. Not from a USB hub. - If your computer doesn't have a DP output, use a high-quality USB-C to DV adapter that supports DP 1.4. High Quality is urgent at this stage of the setup. - Connect the USB power cable into a dedicated 5V USB Port. Not a device that drops power when the shared among multiple devices Making it Work for You - If this KVM switch does not have enough USB ports, you can connect a USB hub to one or more of the USB outputs. You can then use this KVM switch to switch between your two monitors as well as a virtually limitless number of USB devices such as a keyboard, mouse, webcam, speakers, microphone, headphones, data drives, writing pads, cd/dvd drives, and more. This DV KVM switch outperforms HDMI KVM switches by needing fewer cables and providing a higher quality connection. Overall, I am very happy with this KVM switch. I've retired my HDMI KVM switch. If for some reason this KVM switch fails or begins to malfunction, I will update this review. ... show more
