Ok so this is a long awaited review…only because I am planning to buy this exact case again for my iPad. I’ve had this case for about 2 years. Although it doesn’t seem like a lot of time, I am hard on my devices. This iPad is attached to my hip, and use it every single day. 8 hours +. I use it for work and off work hours. I’ve thrown this device out of frustration with work. I’ve dropped it. Kicked it. Use it while bathing. And showering. This device is part of my life because it delivers a wealth of information and knowledge. I use it for my networking tools, port scanner, ping scanner, IP subnet calculator as well as to test my WiFi connections. This device is a part of me and my life, and it is used HARD. I abuse my iPad, only because I have faith in this case. I entrust this case to protect my beloved device, because it has done just that the past couple of years. And now, it’s time to buy another. First off, I didn’t buy this so I could submerge my iPad mini, I don’t think it would be great for that because it manages to draw in air after I’ve made sure to press it all out. (Which is why I gave it 4 stars) It does, however, work perfectly for keeping it safe in an art room where students have unexpectedly splattered paint, water, glue, goo, etc and where dust, dirt, and other detritus of creativity would wreck it. The case seals up great but with effort. It did a great job when I was caught in an unexpected deluge that soaked everything with me completely. I have not seen a lack of performance but when I have it is because it has drawn in air again and the protector screen is no longer touching the iPad screen. An opened plug and a quick hug fix that right up. It has not been sent on an unexpected trip to the floor yet (thank god) so I can’t speak to the shock protection but the side bumpers are beefy yet not so beefy the tablet is cumbersome. It has also done well being put in a bag with care! but also that bag carries various stuff and the case has stood up well to them. So divers be cautious but if you just need general protection this should serve your purposes.

It's such hardcore protection that it's like pulling teeth should you need to take it off. That's impressive. It's worth a little challenge for the few times one needs to take it off given the payoff is ultimate iPad protection. This is considerably less expensive, a LOT LESS, than the original 'defender' cases. Yes please!!!
