I've never had dehydrated meals before, but on the recent hiking trip I went for it. Very tasty. I added water per instructions, and it came out a bit watery. Next time I'm going to try less water. Ive been hesitant to try this brand but with the gluten free options available, I went for it. Very tasty. The Mylar bag it comes in can be zip sealed so its very convenient for me to use a portion at a time instead of having to prepare the whole bag (2servings) at once. Gluten free is very important. Easy to store, easy to prepare, and great flavors from all the Mountain House meals I have tried. If I was a backpacker I may be a bit concerned it would turn to dust if not properly packed but then, backpackers know how to deal with that issue. Very light and takes up little space for the calories contained, just add hot water stir and before your tent is up the meal is ready. Also good for the long term planners on a budget. The flavor was good..superior to Peak brand. But..the amount if water they said to add made it like soup. Since I was testing it at home I made addl rice and added to it. There wasnt much chicken or veggies. I added cashews for protein. So if I make again would use 1 1/3 water instead of 1 2/3 and hope the rice znd chicken rehydrates ok. Can always add water but cant take it away once added. I'd buy for a hard up situation but not a favorite. Still dudnt taste like any real teriyaki I've ever had. Tasted processed. Meh ... show more
