The desk took about half a day to put together, but once together is perfect! I have been using a manual standing desk for years and never wanted to spend the money on a new desk. Now that I am fully remote it was time to make the investment. I searched for days and finally decided on this one. This desk came in two huge heavy packages. I'm a handy guy and remodeled most of my house, rebuilt my dirtbike engine, and can work on cars. This desk took me over 12+ hours to assemble by myself. It was flat packed- meaning that everything came in it's most basic form. For example, a drawer came in 5 different boards and you had to disassemble the drawer slides prior to screwing every piece together. There was over 35+ parts to lay out over the floor and none of them were in order. They were all put into the box just based on what made it fit best. It took about 15 minutes just to get all the boards, hardware, and material out of the box and organized on my office floor. The directions were pretty basic. "Attach Board 1 to Boards 4,5,6 with screws A and B". It had pictures. I had two go backwards and disassemble/reassemble a few pieces twice because it doesn't say something like "note- make sure boards 5 & 6 are facing x direction". You need to pay VERY close attention to the directions, which sometimes show 12-14 screws going in to a board at a time and are hard to get a good visual on everything you're assembling. Whatever, maybe I'm being picky. The worst part about this desk is that all the materials are all made out of medium density fiberboard (MDF). This is basically like a really strong cardboard. The screws you need to attach easily eat into the fiberboard and do not hold strong and tight. As others have mentioned, the low side of the desk is really low. When sitting, the high part of the desk is also very high even with your chair pulled up to the highest setting. It is higher than a normal desk and arms feel like they will lose circulation when resting on the desk edge while sitting. There are 4 preset stages on the adjustable side.The components (motor and electric controller) seem cheap. The 4th preset setting is actually higher than the maximum height the desk goes, so it will try to go up but then maxes out and comes back down. This whole thing probably cost <$100 to manufacture and does not feel like a good deal at all with the $500+ price tag. There is a cutout with a plastic covering for you to run electric cords through from the top desk. It goes through the top layer, then through the bottom layer into a cabinet. It goes from that cabinet into the adjacent one but that it where it ends. There is NOWHERE to get a powerstrip into that cabinet. I'm going to have to cut a hole to modify it. Several parts have knicks, scratches, and/or dings from shipping. It seems highly susceptible to flaws as the whole thing is made of fiberboard. I could go on, but you get the point. The side desk is smaller than the main desk, that is not the issue. My issue is the functionality of the desk is not properly functioning. The lifting stand does not fit into the square therefore the desk will not go below 82 with out giving an error code. I could shave off some wood, but why would I do that to a brand new desk. ... show more
