These are good…I am not sure what my expectations should be, if I am honest. I am actually a professional singer, so I am used to a different type of mic in a larger venue (and I don’t say that to sound hoity-toity or anything, just saying that my experience with mics that might be geared more towards home karaoke use or small room presentation is limited.) I certainly didn’t blast myself out of the house as I was trying them out…in fact, I had the volume up as loud as it would go on both the receiver and the speakers that I had it plugged into…BUT…perhaps it is the fault of the speakers, which are really just meant to be studio monitors. (Having said that, I was just using those same speakers plugged into my laptop, playing some instrumental music by Deuter, and there was plenty of sound! So, I am not sure what the issue is, exactly.) Certainly with the mic on and turned up, there was a presence of voice in the speakers. The mics are sensitive enough to pic up breathiness, blowing of air, etc…you can hear that pretty easily…so I wonder if a better test of these might happen by my going into another room and having someone else remain in the room with the speakers…perhaps my confusion about the level of sound has to do with the competition of sound when I am hearing it from my own mouth at the same time…(but again…I am used to hearing myself through monitors on a stage as well as from my own mouth, so….? And again, perhaps it had more to do with the power of the speakers). It definitely does give a boost to the voice and more presence in the room. It may be that I just need to transmit the sound to something more powerful. I did notice that speaking/singing across the top of the mic rather than into the mic seemed to cut down on the breath/aspiration noises. I have not tried this with my computer yet, as I need to get the proper cables for that, or look to see if my audio book narration mic cable can be used with this receiver…and I would certainly need a windscreen/popscreen. So…for home use, I think definitely adequate for boosting the voice and the fun! I can’t say yet what other purposes I might use these for, but I will update when I have tried out some other methods. By the way, each microphone requires two AA batteries, and it can seem tricky to insert them at first. There are 2 little tension walls in the center to hold them in place, and you can easily slide the first battery in, following it with the 2nd by snapping that one in…don’t be nervous. Nothing breaks. 😉 Taking the batteries out between uses is usually a decent idea, and that is where it does seem trickier. Those tension walls work pretty well…you will have to physically pull the first battery out with a bit of intention. ... show more

    • Fantastic Sounding Budget
These mics are the best mics that I have honestly spent money on. They were super cheap but the sound quality is that an expensive brand. I have used Sennheiser and Shure and I honestly like these just as much. Somebody had taken our Sennheiser and seen these on a budget and I needed them quick for a concert that me and my wife were singing And the first time I hooked them up and turn them on and sung through them, I was overly impressed especially coming from using Sennheiser. I highly recommend these. I have used these for 5 hours so far on the original batteries and the sound is fantastic and have had no issues even with them being on the road with wear and tear. This is a great set of wires microphones for karaoke. They aren't extravagant, but definitely soled and good mics and don't take up much room or cost a fortune. Each mic has a volume control on the receiver so it's super simply to use. Plus I don't have to worry about the mic cord being long enough to reach the karaoke machine. The range is also very impressive! I was able to use them from the other side of my house without getting garbled. The one downside is that you can't change the frequency on the mics, but I think there is a "B" set that Moukey makes so you don't have frequency interference. But I don't really need more than 4 mics for karaoke. ... show more

I am a hobbyist musician and this wireless microphone system was exactly what I needed without having to spend a ton of money. The product was packaged very well and the mics have a balanced feel to them. Set up was easy and is not complicated, although the user manual is not very helpful but the pictures are. I ran the mics through a Fender Acoustasonic 40 using balanced XLR cables. I had plenty of volume. I walked at least 40 feet from the receiver and did not noticeably drop any or hear any latency signal. For my purposes I would probably never be more than 15 feet from the receiver.
